It has a long history, but it is supposed to be the largest conceivable number, larger even than googleplex. But I’m no expert in this matter.

No. Catechism
2479 Detraction and calumny destroy the reputation and honor of one’s neighbor . Honor is the social witness given to human dignity, and everyone enjoys a natural right to the honor of his name and reputation and to respect. Thus, detraction and calumny offend against the virtues of justice and charity.

Calling someone a pedophile, as a weapon to wound, damage or hurt them is a horrible thing to do. That would be very wrong.

I think that the virtuous thing to do is to not be calling other people bad names to begin with.

Of course not.

Name calling to provoke others is silly, juvenile and short-sighted. As is writing click bait articles.

Also, the word, “racist” is misused with great frequency. “Prejudice,” is typically what people actually mean.

And if the prejudice is based on race? That sounds like racism to me (though academics would add “backed up by societal power” to the requirements for the latter).

There is a certain class of people who regularly play the racist and sexist card – because those are the only two cards in their deck. My response is usually to say, “The first person to accuse the other of racism (or sexism) is the real racist (or sexist.)”

Maybe not pedophile but certainly baby killer applies.
Well, no, not unless you thought it was OK for Vietnam protesters to call every citizen of the United States a baby killer.

What is that kind of rhetoric supposed to accomplish? Repentance? Awakening? What are the chances? The caution to not throw pearls before swine presupposes that a rational person wouldn’t jump into the pen and roll in the mud and hit the animals with a stick.

Not only is it wrong, calling someone that is a fighting word. Fists are gonna fly and a weapon might even be drawn. 🤺
