What should be our response to them?
My first knee jerk response is to say “oh it’s ok”, but then, there is a part of me that says, no, it’s not, and I shouldn’t get in the way of the conscience if it leads to repentance.

He needs to confess and throw away old sins.
Some establish disciplinary sanctions for themselves, epithymia.
There are people who are burdened by constant persecution of sin. Sin follows them all the time.
There are people who are so burdened by the persecution of sin that they are unable to take up responsible ministries all their lives.
I think that God forgives and man also needs to learn to forgive himself.
The devil, as the Scripture says, slander and condemn day and night, but it leads to despair.
Sometimes a person goes through life horrors, and here the more you need to learn to forgive yourself and believe that God forgives through the blood of Jesus.
There are not a few cases when soldiers who have passed the war or big ex-criminals are tormented by memories, but all that causes depression, despair, disbelief, life apathy is from the evil one.
And where God is there hope, faith, love, and forgiveness.

Give them a high five !

But warn them. If they continue and continue in sin -
The Bible says their love will grow cold…
No secret their heart will callous too.
Their eyes won’t see. Their ears won’t hear.
The wages of sin is - death.

You don’t - want to know - those - who have no conscience.
