Purgatory is a necessary evil . Purgatory is like being set on fire daily so that you can clean your soul from the rank filth you dirtied yourself with.

Purgatory is a waste of time.

Purgatory is a time out for those going to heaven.

Purgatory is detention for those going to heaven.

Purgatory is a cleansing process for those not fit to be in heaven.

You can choose to not sin and not go to purgatory or you can choose to sin and go to purgatory.

Those in purgatory cant help themselves because “LET HIS PRAYER BE COUNTED AS SIN”

Just as Heaven as come near to us on earth so purgatory also is experienced on earth.

We got into the 80’s this past week, Winter? Never heard of it!!! All we have is this blend of months that sometimes resembles seasons if that particular year feels like it .

Demons are evil spirits of either angelic or human nature.

There are a few problems with this theory

1. It requires human souls to gain power when they enter Hell
2. It would mean Hell is much more than a separation from God

Angels, both good angels and the demons of hell were created by God as Angels from the beginning. They are vastly superior to our human nature in all things. IOW, they are even vastly superior to us in our souls. They are the “elder ones.” Those humans that die, and go to heaven, including Mary, the Apostles and all of the Saints and Martyrs are inferior to the Angels of heaven by nature. However, our Virgin Mother Mary is the Queen of the Angels in rank and dignity, having been elevated to this position by the Holy Will of God. The Angels of Heaven are filled with grace and understanding, humility, charity and like unto God in their attributes and perfections. This glory of the Angels was so great, that it caused Satan and his cohorts to suppose they could defy God and his loyal angels. For this they were cast into Hell.

The empty places in Heaven, left void by the fallen angels are being refilled by us lowly humans. That is why Satan and all his minions hate and despise us with an everlasting hatred and vengeance. Human souls that go to Hell, still have a human nature, (even though both angels and human souls are spirits.) Just because our soul is a spirit, that does not elevate our nature to that of the Angels (either good or bad.) Therefore, the full wrath and hatred of the fallen angels will torment the human souls they can drag down to Hell with them. Just as in Heaven there is a hierarchy, it is so in Hell too. Humans are the lowest order of existence in Hell, and the most despised and hated for their brethren in Heaven have taken their spots.

It has been said by some visionaries, that the reason Jesus was sweating blood in the Garden before his Death on the Cross, while praying, was for those souls that would not accept his redemption and were to be doomed to eternity in Hell. In fact it is said that this was far from the first time Jesus prayed for us with so much fervor that he would sweat blood, that souls would accept his Salvation.

You are quoting the dry Church theological teaching, but that is not the whole story.

To say that Hell is just a separation from God would be like saying war is a separation from peace; or falling off a cliff in just a separation from the top. So you can take it to the bank that Hell is MUCH more than a separation from God. In Holy Scripture, Jesus did his best to describe the torments and horrors of hell. Do not delude yourself, or console yourself that Hell is just an extension of this world, only cleaner, by just being a separation from God.

Do you remember which saint(s) knew that? I’ve always wanted to read about Purgatory but I can’t find any good material on it.

Saint John Bosco was another one (in addition to Saint Fausitina that someone else has already mentioned). There were a few more, however, their names escape me? If you do a search for “saints who had visions of Purgatory” you will come up with some good reading material. I personally feel that saints are such a wonderful gift from God. They are trying to warn us…we would be smart to sit up and listen!
