When we do not praise Mary

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

A startling passage from Pope Emeritus (Pope Benedict XVI):
…The Church neglects one of the duties enjoined upon her when she does not praise Mary. She deviates from the word of the Bible when her Marian devotion falls silent. When this happens, in fact, the Church no longer even glorifies God as she ought…
These words are from his book, Mary, the Church at the Source p. 62

Pope Emeritus then Cardinal Ratzinger was writing within the context of his chapter on “Elements of Marian Piety According to the Bible” and is specifically commenting on the phrase “All generations will call me blessed” spoken by Mary and handed on for us by Luke (Lk 1:48). Again, I am awed by the depth of this Pope’s insights into Scripture.

Now I like him even more than I did before, which was a lot.

Dear MarianCatholic,

Thanks for your reply. Your English is very good. Please let us pray especially for priests and Bishops that they may lead more people to Jesus through Mary. Too many seem silent on Marian devotion. By God’s grace, let us offer reparation to Jesus and Mary for our sins and the sins of the world.
