When were you saved question by Protestants

What do you say to a Protestant who asks when I was saved? As a cradle Catholic, what is the appropriate answer?
 
The answer is that you were saved when Christ died on the cross and you were baptized into His Body
You are being saved now by the same merits by having faith working through love
You will continue to be saved by by persevering in that faith by His grace.
 
If I were a cradle Catholic I would respond:

I was blessed to be born into a Christian family. I was taken to church from the time I was a baby and I honestly can’t recall a time when I didn’t know that Jesus was my Savior who died for my sins and the sins of the world.

The next question might .be: Do you know Him personally?

My response to that would be: Of course… I love him very much.
 
I would say in return “Why do you ask?” and go from there. Let him put his assumptions on the table right off the bat.
