I read my daughter a great book reciently, I suggest we all read it. It’s called “The Berenstein Bears: Say Their Prayers”.
But seriously, there is a part in that book where Brother Bear sees his cousin praying before pitching during a baseball game, and then strikes out the side. So Brother later prays for a game winning hit and then strikes out.
He’s said and says something to his cousin, who simply says: “oh, I just pray that I will not be scared”. He didn’t ask for a strikeout. Later at bedtime, Sister is still teasing Brother about the strikeout and he gets mad. So he prays for the anger to go away, and it does.
A lot of times we don’t know how to pray. I found that simply children’s book to be very enlightening.
