When you are in love, do their faults endear them to you?

I know all about testing locutions though I feel like people don’t take me seriously when I have them. I look young and I think a lot of people think I’m just desperate for a Disney fantasy when in reality I just want to do God’s will. So yes I finally after a lot of testing and telling my advisor simply ignore the thing. I am sure it was “from God” as in not from the devil and God permitted it. However prophecies are only comprehended upon their fulfillment and I think it simply means something else than the surface meaning. As in I needed this transitional thing bc the real truth I’m not ready for.

God will provide better things.
Consider what God permitted Job to go through. Not every test is “from God” in the sense that it is a direct expression of what God wants you to do. If you think of yourself as a pilot, think of the direction of the Church as your instruments. Think of your spiritual director as the voice from the control tower, the person tracking you on radar from a location remote from your plane, a person who cannot see what you see but who can see what you cannot see from your vantage point.

What you see out the window can be clear or it can be fog. It can be light or it can be darkness. If you believe your eyes over your instruments, though, you can crash. So yes, look out the window, but when it comes to what you trust, trust the instruments.

I don’t mean that you want them to do bad things, but does being in love mean that their faults or issues endear you to the person more because that person is yours and you love them, even as you try to guide them away from sin? I’m asking because someone told me this maxim once and it seems true but I can’t quite get it.
I have known my husband for 18 years and married for 10 of those years. We started out as acquaintances and friends before ever dating. During that time, I got to see his faults and his strengths. A couple of his faults drove me absolutely crazy at one time and it was one of the reasons why I did not date him the first time he asked me out. It wasn’t until a couple years later, when he grew and matured spiritually and emotionally that those faults either extremely diminished or disappeared completely. It was then when I began to consider him as a potential husband, seeing his strengths and inner beauty.

Does he have faults now? Sure he does, as do I. Are they endearing to me? Maybe a little when we were first married and we were discovering each other as husband and wife. Now? No… lol! Yet, I love him even more deeply and fully today than I did on the day I married him. The faults that he has now were never deal breakers to me. If he did not mature during those first few years that I knew him when we were both in our late teens/early 20s, those past faults would have been deal breakers to me and I wouldn’t even be having this conversation as I wouldn’t be married to him.
I have had so many guys want to make me into this weird lifeless Stepford wife and “fix” me so I am “proper” before they date me, and so many girls say oh that guy needs a better job clothes etc and I feel like people just want to love this image and not the person.
I think that is true for some people. I knew women who wanted to change so much of what their husbands or boyfriends were. There are people who make the mistake of thinking that they can change the person they think they are in love with. That is a major no-no in my book, as I believe it can lead to a lot of heartbreak and regret. If you are dating someone who is really more interested in changing you into this “Stepford wife” as you put it, that would be a red flag. The person you are in love with should be able to accept and love you for who you are. Also, if you are dating someone with very bad flaws, don’t think you can change him/her either. That person has to choose to change on his/her own and prove that it’s real. During that time, you really shouldn’t be dating them either because it can cloud judgment.
