When you pray do you get visions of how to pray for peiple

The prayers of a righteous available much. The prayer group charismatics get visions of how to pray . it seems to be prophetic . they don’t just say this but get visions.
Do you know other churches that pray this way??
 
I do not experience visions. I’m not familiar with a lot of Protestant churches so I cannot speak to their practices.

Sometimes the name of a person comes to mind that I should pray for but I don’t see this a any big deal - the name may come to mind through my memory or a prompting of the Holy Spirit but I don’t generally have anxiety about where the prompting comes from, I just pray.

As to learning “how to pray” I learn mostly from the writings of our Saints and other authors, especially from the Carmelite tradition to which I belong.

It is dangerous for anybody to use sensible phenomena such as visions as a basis for prayer or religion. Such things can come from many sources, not just God.
 
No, and you do not need visions on how to pray for people. Your intent and prayer are all you should need. Prayer is not like TV or a good movie running through one’s head. True visions by great saints are investigated for many, many years by the Church as true visions are not so common. Private visions are a different matter as they are private. But is really impossible to say-how do we know what the other is “seeing?” Peace.
 
I imagine there are quite a lot of people who don’t absolutely know one way or the other, whether they receive visions or whether they see images generated by their own minds.

No, I don’t get visions. But often, when I start praying for somebody, I will get - I don’t know what to call them - impressions on how to pray for them. They’re ideas, but not verbal ones; I don’t hear anything, not even in my thoughts, I just find that saying the prayer a certain way seems correct all of a sudden.

Perhaps it’s my own mind doing it, but often the direction of my petition changes, so I’d like to think I’m being led. 🙂
