“Seem”? Well, to be honest these days I try to not listen to what I think of God, I just let Him, well, be Himself 😃
But what is your experience of “Himself” ? What is He like for you?

(When you pray) How does God seem to you?
Growing up, it was like God was out there, somewhere. Heaven? Then, when praying in church, He was closer, surrounding me. He stayed close, at times overwhelmingly close, in a comforting way. I’ve seen miracles. When my friend died, it was like God vanished, not there. I was very empty inside. No answers. I still talked, prayed to God. He is back, right up close again after 8 years. I had to give up something I had searched for my entire life. Once I gave up the search, He was back. I would rather be close in prayer with God than anything. Now I know why hermits leave everything to be with God. He IS everything 🙂

Hmm, the nearest description I think would be…Mercy. Pure, unadulterated, overwhelming, refreshing, mysterious, loving Mercy.

But yeah, “Mercy” is just such an inadequate word for it.

I become more aware of his presence. That’s it.
Hi,

I agree with you. I certainly become more aware of His presence when I pray. It’s like He is listening to me, and this makes me feel good. It strengthens the relationship I am building with Him.

But what is that presence like to you? How would you describe it to someone who has not known it?
Hi,

I can only speak for myself about this but when I pray I feel His presence. It is like a warm and welcoming glow in my heart, and when I feel this I know that God is listening.
