When your out-of-town in-laws come for a visit, do they.........?

My MIL comes to visit at least twice a year, for about 2-4 weeks each time. Our house is a tri-level, and she gets the bottom floor (bedroom + bath) to herself (when the kids can stand to be without her).

Last year, my BIL got married, and we had visitors for about a week. BIL & SIL downstairs, Gramma bunked with the kids, and Cousin on the playroom sofa. One set of Uncle and Aunt stayed in their camper, and another family stayed in a hotel.

While DH is gone with National Guard, I LOVE having my MIL at the house. It is so nice to have another grown-up around, and we get along fine. However…last year she was here for eight weeks, and we had both had enough together time. :yup:

MIL passed away, but I used to love her visits. (once a year for a week) She was an extra pair of hands to help with kids and she never stepped on my toes. She was a great guest. FIL never leaves AZ, so I never see him. My parents used to stay at our house. Then my youngest brother bought a house and it was easier for them to stay there. When my parents stayed with us, they took our room and we slept on the futon in the den. —KCT
