I’m looking at a footnote in the encyclical Pacem in Terris from 1957 which references a radio message by Pope Pius XII on Christmas Eve 1940. Where could I find text of that?

If you read Spanish or Italian, it’s on the Vatican website:

As far as an English translation, I’m afraid I can’t help. I keep looking for good online sources on writings/speeches/etc. from the popes, so I’m interested in the answer as well.

I’ve heard of the papalencyclicals.net website, but I admit I haven’t utilized it nearly enough. I also recently came across gcatholic.com which has loads of Church documents as well. Evidentally, it’s been around for ten years, but I never even heard of it before yesterday.Thanks, I can probably stumble through those languages, maybe with the help of automated translators anyway.

Of course, the Vatican website is great for anything from December 1996 to the present time. Before that, only the major documents seem to be in English. If only I could remember more of my high school Spanish!
With the online translators, they often don’t quite capture some of the Chuch “jargon”, but it should hopefully give a good general idea anyway.
