Of all the religious institutions, the religious beliefs, could I find God?
I mean, could I find out who God is and how He relates to me?

If I found God say in the Jehovah’s Witness organization, would that make God unreachable by them?
How about the Mormons, the Seventh day Adventist, and all non Catholic organizations?

What would limit God to reaching a non Catholic, or is He limited?

Some thoughts here in an attempt to justify God’s ability to reach anybody and everybody whom God’s hand touches.

If the heart is where a change is made from the desires of this world to those of heaven, is it not the spirit of God at work in the individual apart from who or what that individual is?

By is, I mean what that persons religious beliefs are?

You are not far from the Kingdom of Heaven.

God meets us where we are…God is the Seeker…we are the found…God is Lover…we are beloved. God meets us in our ignorance as well as in our knowledge. We can find God anywhere…for God is always Present.

God will always be know imperfectly on This Side…but what we know about God is revealed in Jesus of Nazareth…who came to seek and save that which was lost.

I believe William Penn said…“There is a principle which is pure, placed in the human mind, which in different places and ages hath had different names. It is, however, pure and proceeds from God. It is deep and inward, confined to no forms of religion nor excluded from any, where the heart stands in perfect sincerity. In whomsoever this takes root and grows, of what nation soever they become brethren in the best sense of the expression”

For sure, you can never by your own power to come or even get near to God. But, rejoice. It is God who will come to you.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:** “Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says: ‘I am as My slave thinks I am, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers me to himself, I remember him to Myself; if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than it; if he draws near to Me a handspan, I draw near to him an arm’s length; if he draws near to me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length; if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.”** … Narrated by Muslim (2675).

The bottom line here is that the first step in finding the Creator must come from the sincere desire of His creation and once we have started this journey within our hearts, rest assured that He will meet us more than half-way.

I agree with you especially when nothing else is added quote “confined to no forms of religion nor excluded from any”

Well said!

Absolutely! The key is in the heart! From there God grows in us and replaces this worlds desires to that of His, while we yet live in the flesh.

Mind you, we remain imperfect, short of heaven, but rest assured we may enter heaven when our hearts have God in us, for His kingdom is within.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

So if I was stranded in an island all my life and never heard of Jesus or the bible, would I still have an inkling of a spiritual entity?

😃
That’s what Paul said. But your answer has to show me how close I am and how I am to enter there in?

According to the Catholic Church, it might depend on what you do with what you have been given:

"Outside the Church there is no salvation"

846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:

Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336

847 **This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church: **

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337

848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338

The Catholic church does not limit God in any way, infact she states in her Cathechism that God can save those outside the Sacraments if it is God’s will to do so.

This is the understanding. Jesus is God incarnate he came in the flesh, he built his Church upon the apostle Peter and his companions. Jesus gave his teachings directly to Peter and his apostles. Jesus commanded his Church to go out into all the world and baptise them in the blessed Trinity, and teach them all that Jesus revealed to his church. This my friend has been the mission of the Catholic church for 2000 years now non stop.

Now if God wills to act outside his church God can do all things. But if you have been introduced to his Catholic church it may be wise to look into this marvelous Body of Jesus Christ on earth instead of waiting or taking the chance that God may act solely on your behalf, in which case God has, that is why the Catholic church is still here for you.

In all honesty, (assuming God is real, on my part) you find God wherever you are happiest. You find Heaven when the conflicts within your mind, soul, peers, and families are quieted.

It’s all in state of mind, personally, so I don’t believe there is a specific place or religion you can find.

I can respect that, although very difficult to understand coming from a “Catholic”?

Tell me Blade and Blood, do you believe there is a heaven and a Hell? and do you believe Evil or Satan exists?

Your personal preference of theology has been entertained for centuries, especially when Adam and Eve decided for themselves to be their own God. “The human soul will never be sufficed in true happiness until the soul kisses his creator then the soul (man) has found happiness where now, the only thing the soul fears; is losing his creator, he has found that fills all his yearnings for happiness.” adam

Peace be with you;🙂

I am only Catholic by heritage and on paper; I’m definitely proud to say that I grew up Catholic. 🙂

When it comes to the Afterlife, I don’t believe it’s my place to assume because obviously I am not dead, yet. But I do often consider a Heaven and Hell, but purely as a state of mind: If you die regretting an event or situation and never reconciled with yourself or the people involved, you have died in suffering.

Personally, I do not believe in evil; I only believe in insanity, fear, and lack of knowledge. As for Satan, it is equivalent of asking me whether I believe in God or not. I cannot say, but I can tell you that he is a significant entity in Christianity and a dominant symbol in LaVeyan Satanism.

Ironically Yours. ❤️

It amazes me, how many friends I have buried with your mind set. What experience has showed me, many of them live today because they survived a close death encounter or some miracle in their life. Maybe yours has not arrived yet. Besides we dont fear death as Catholics we welcome death when we are called to it, for we have overcome death in our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, For not even death can keep us from God who loves us and we are in God for he is Love.

Peace be with you, hope to see you in the after life one day in eternity.

Thank you. Right now, I feel like I’m at peace. But, I really hope, after Death, I am in the state of being “unborn.”

Very noble and a true statement of those who have found within themselves the kingdom of God.

“The kingdom of God”, Jesus said is here, “within you”, one need but to discover it via whatever means God proposes to cause us to seek Him: These are, near death experiences, accidents, prison terms, troubles with individuals, wars, joyous occasions, tragedies of all sorts, religion changes, world observations, fear, hate, love, financial problems, addictions and many more.

All the above are all subject to a change of heart, from hate to love, from sadness to joy, from depression to victory, from evil to good, from enemy to friend, from death to life.

Also, please notice that of all of those things I mentioned there is not a particular religious belief mentioned to effect a change in the heart?

If one has a rejuvenated heart, a repentant heart towards the things of God it matters not what religious belief we espouse because it is within the heart that worship is complete.
