Where can I find information on the Inquisition?

I heard recently that much of what we’ve learned and heard about the Spanish Inquisition(negative things) have been found to be unsubstantiated and untrue. Where can I find information on this? I would like to share it with friends who ridicule the Catholic Church and its role in this historical event.
