Where can I find these Catholic teachings in the Bible?

I have had the hardest time trying to find confession and purgatory in the Bible. I have read the Catachism and used the reference it gives, but when I read Scripture it didn’t seem to relate. This all goes back to an argument with my husband about the beliefs of the faith and the things he doesn’t believe are true.

I also have had difficulty with trying to find Scripture about the importance of baptism for a baby. I need to prove to my husband that it is extremely important. Can I get help with finding the right Scripture passages and understanding it so that I can have him understand?
