Where can I get a St Benedict Crucifix-medal that wont tarnish.

Mine is like this but it is changing colors after only a few months:

I’m not sure where you can get a medal, that won’t tarnish. But I can tell you how to easily get RID of the tarnish on a medal.

I took one of those “Magic Erasers” that you can get in any grocery store (cleaning isle) and just applied a little bit of water, and rubbed my medal with it. And voila! Clean as a whistle and not a scratch on it! Hope this will help. God bless.

I think tarnish may be the wrong word… I think its a poor quality medal and it is discoloring.

“stove”, I would still recommend trying the Magic Eraser. My St. Therese medal is the one I cleaned, and it had a blackish tarnish on the front… and a weird, kind of yellowish discoloration on the back. Both of those came off, with gentle rubbing of the damp Magic Eraser. It worked, pretty well.👍 The medal is clean and silvery again.

If your medal is genuine silver, though. You might want to get a liquid silver cleaner. They have several that are easy to use (dip and rinse). I recently cleaned my late fathers Sacred Heart medal that way. It had been tarnishing for nearly 20 years. It turned out beautifully! I love to wear it.

Oh, you can clean virtually anything with a Magic Eraser. I think that’s why they’re called “magic”. lol. It’s like a dense, white sponge really. Not really an “eraser”. Just called that.

Anyway, you can find them on the cleaning aisle… with other kitchen and bathroom cleaners. Let me know if it worked as well for you, as it did for me. God bless.

I actually had some magic eraser in my cupboard and it didnt work.

Steve, I bought (2) sterling silver Benedictine crucifix’s from this lady and received them in one day because of location. Just in time for the blessing after the DC papal mass. They are really detailed.rosettagrams.com/benedict.htm

I’ve never had serious problems with tarnish on a medal but, presuming it isn’t an expensive one, I’d think coating the medal with clear nail polish would prevent tarnish. If it flakes off or anything, just repeat.

I hope you are as happy with it as we are with the one’s we got (I bought them for my 2 oldest son’s). Be sure to have the approved blessing/ exorcism done. I had a different Benedictine crucifix blessed this way for the home. Our priest used a relic of the true cross to do the blessing/ exorcism as he knew that it can be used for the blessing of St. Maurus over the sick. Tim

As Charlie Brown would say… “RATS” :o Sorry it didn’t work. Wonder why. Hmm. It worked beautifully with my St. Therese medal. Yours must have been a more stubborn type of tarnishing/discoloration. 🤷
