Where can I learn Latin besides just from books? My university doesn’t offer any Latin courses and I was hoping to become as advanced as I can. Are there some Churches that might teach Latin or offer classes?
I just sent for my complimentary CD. The cost is $59 per month for six months. I believe that I can learn it rather easily since I speak Spanish and comperhend some Italian. The Italian pronunciations will come in handy, moreso than the Spanish ones. A lot of the words in Latin that I have seen are similar to Italian (duh, Latin is the mother tongue). I am looking forward to the CD.There is Rosetta Stone. They have one in Latin.
Is Ecclesiastical Latin different from the Latin that is taught from Rosetta Stone or in a Latin class?I asked a traditional catholic priest to help me learn the latin or if he knew anyone who could help me. he was very gracious and patient. It is called ecclesiastical latin. that helps with finding the right books.

Q. 566. Why does the Church use the Latin language instead of the national language of its children?
A. The Church uses the Latin language instead of the national language of its children:
- To avoid the danger of changing any part of its teaching in using different languages;
- That all its rulers may be perfectly united and understood in their communications;
- To show that the Church is not an institute of any particular nation, but the guide of all nations.
