Where can one purchase high quality eastern crosses?

I saw the thread on purchasing Icons and thought that many people may wonder where to purchase eastern crosses. Here are the two companies that I purchase mine from:

Imperial Jewlery, a company in Russia, sells high quality eastern crosses at a wonderful price. Each silver product comes with a tag proving that it is Sterling Silver .925. They have a very diverse selection. They take about 8 days to receive after ordering and I live in the USA. Here is their site: imperial-jewelry.com/

Gallery Byzantium, a company in the USA, sells high quality crosses. They are priced higher than Imperial Jewelry, but their products are made in the USA. They take about 8 days to receive after ordering. Here is their site: gallerybyzantium.com/

I have purchased from both companies and can vouch for their integrity.

Are their any other places that you have purchased from that you would like to add to this thread?
 
You would be amazed at the beautiful items you can buy on Ebay. I have bought many pieces to use to build rosaries for myself and my family. There are beautiful Eastern relics, Icons,and religious items on there for the bidding. I hope this helps.

I never thought of putting Ebay on the list. I’m hoping this thread will be of value to those that don’t know where to purchase Orthodox Jewelry. 🙂

Imperial Jewelry is selling on eBay now. They were selling on eBay under another name but they expanded considerably in the last 2-3 months carry a wider variety of things.

You may have to do a narrower search depending on what you are looking for.

I have made several purchases from Gallery Byzantium and have yet to be disappointed, nor were those family members and friends for whom I have purchased gifts. Definitely recommend this store and source!
 
The only cavil I have with gelleria byzantium is that that their crosses are cast in metal that is not too thick.

If you are an active man, they have been known to bend slightly.

That may depend on the particular item. I have two from GB, a St. Andrew Cross and a St. Olga Cross. Both are rather thick and sturdy. I do prefer silver vs. gold, and both of mine are made of sterling silver.

Perhaps there is a difference in thickness between the two materials these days, especially given the current price of gold. I do see some references to “guage” now on some items on their website, which I don’t recall from when I ordered some time ago.

I’ve had that problem as well. I depends on the cross. The thing that I like about Imperial Jewelry is that they tell the weight of the cross. That way you know about how this it will be.

Check the bookstores of your local Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic Churches. Keep your tax dollars in your own locale when possible. 🙂

I have ordered from Sophrino in Russa and the shipping literally takes months.

Is the other vendor better?
 
Also, does the cost of shipping from Imperial make up for the cost diff between Gallery Byzantuim and Imperial?

Imperial Jewelry has cheaper prices and free shipping worldwide. Also, their silver products are certified Sterling Silver .925. It took eight days from the time I placed my order to the time that I received it in the USA.
 
The reason I always look at Ebay first is because you can find some really beautiful old pieces that are in need of a new home. I think back to who may have used them to help them pray, to bolster their faith. There are items made out of all metals and all precious metals. I have bought crucifixes and other religious items (medals, charms,centers) from all over the world and have never been disappointed. I have also bought many new pieces from various vendors on there too. I bought my wife a beautiful old 14k gold Miraculous Medal for Easter on there and paid 1/3 of what the retail value was. The price was just a little over scrap value for 14k gold as 14k is only 56% gold and the piece weighed 2.8 grams. I also just love to look through the pages of various crucifixes and crosses and medals to see the beautiful artwork involved in fashioning one of these old pieces. Give it a go. Sometimes it is like looking in a museum.
