Where could I get Holy Water?

I would like to have Holy Water in my house. Where could I get Holy Water?

Sometimes when I’m in a Church there is a metal-like “bucket” that has Holy Water in it, and it could be used almost similiar to a water fountain, because a person can push, or twist a button or switch that causes it to come out. Is is permissable to take Holy Water from them, or must one first ask permission from the parish?

I suppose it depends on the parish. If they make it available that way, I would assume you could just take some. Ask in the church office. In my parish small plastic bottles of holy water are available. Once I was asked for a dollar, another time they told me there was no charge. I gave them a dollar anyway. It’s a nice bottle.

Generally, you are free to take a reasonable amount of holy water both from the “tank” or the font. You usually do not need special permission. This is all under the good faith assumption that it will be used for reverent and not profane purposes.

Agree, if there is a tank of it, it is there for you to take some, if there is no tank and the little dippers (?) at the entrances are to small, just ask the priest for some.

We have a large stainless steel tank donated in the name of a deceased parishioner. When I am around, I freely give it out. I suppose when I am not around, the parishioners take some themselves. Great to have Holy Water in the home. Many have little fonts in their homes.

   (FTR, I concur with others: If there is a reservoir of holy water with a tap, it is there to be taken (in reasonable quantities and for appropriate purposes). Drop something into the poor box if you like.
   If there is no reservoir, just ask a priest.)

Those big metal bins are always for public use in my experience. Go for it!

Those tanks are for your use, take as much as you want! We can never run out of holy water.
My priest tells me about a parishioner who frequently “loads up” on holy water with gallon-size milk jugs.

   I cant believe it, when I read the title to this threaed, I thought the same thing,Seriously though, If you use alot, get a gallon milk jug and fill it up and get the priest to bless it. The only thing, make sure you label it as Holy Water,

I concur, a few bottles of Holy Mount Franklins could always come in handy in the car. Keeps the road rage off…

I really don’t see any holy water in bottles at the church I go to. I guess I’m going to have the office where I can get some holy water.
