Where could I see/find a traditional Catholic breviary?

Out of curiosity, I wanted to look over a Catholic breviary. In a novel by Bud MacFarlane, the priest is always reading it. I think I’ve found a website with the breviary online but would like to look at a actual, bound copy of one. Where are such things found? Catholic Supply in St. Louis doesn’t sell them, though they seem to have the Liturgy of the Hours, a huge three-or-four volume set of books. My prayer life is compounded enough with Morning and Evening Prayer and various quasi-Catholic devotions, as well as other things I try to include at least a few times per week. I’m told that the Episcopal Book of common Prayer is in many ways an adaptation of the Catholic Breviary, as well as the Catholic Missal–sort of a blending of the two books. Any truth to this?

If you wanted it to pray from you could try the Anglican Breviary (horrors!), which in structure is very similar to the pre Vatican II breviary, and is used by some Catholics:

Alternatively, there is an online bookshop in the UK, which has been advertising the traditional Roman Breviary as being in reprint for heaven knows how long now. When it will eventually appear is anyone’s guess:

Thanks! Do priests not use the Breviary any longer? Is no one publishing the traditional Breviary at all? With the passing of so many older priests, would it be possible to buy such a thing used?

I actually own a copy of Shorter Christian Prayer, as well as a copy of Morming and Evening Prayer. I think the Breviary is different than that, though of course I could be mistaken. Here is a website that shows what I think the Breviary would look like:

Thanks for your feedback. Dunno if I’d want to own this or not, as a bound book, but would like to look at one and compare it with the BCP. At some point I am going to purchase the Anglican Breviary, which would probably be more to my tastes in terms of spirituality. But I still like to compare/contrast the Anglican and Catholic spiritual practices, with an eye to borrowing what I find useful. Thanks again!!

Although the web description of the book I have says only morning and evening prayer, it actually has a lot more - daytime prayer, night prayer, hymns, office of readings (portions)…so it has more than the short version of Christian Prayer.

I own a bunch of bibles, and the psalms used in this book are my favorites (Grail version, I believe).

My understanding is that Catholic priests could be in big trouble if they used a breviary other than the one the Vatican currently approves of. You might be able to get a second hand breviary from somewhere like ebay, if you pay enough return visits until one turns up.
