Any ideas on where one of the above could be found. I stress–pre-Vatican II VERSIONS. Thanks!

This is probably not going to be much help but I have found a lot of old missals at antique stores, used book sales or garage sales. I found an old Christian prayer book at a garage sale that the nuns at a convent in our neighborhood have every year.

Try addall.com. When it comes up you will want to go onto their used book site. There, find a list of book sellers with a check box by each name. Check all of the boxes. Then when you enter the information for a book search, over 4 milllion book titles will be gone through. It is the best site for out of print books on the net.

e-bay has them. go to e-bay and type in breiary. the older they are the mor expensive they become.

One of the monastic diurnals looks nice but does anyone know how much British currency is worth, measured by volume rather than by weight? And to answer someone’s query-no I don’t speak Latin. But I loathe anything tainted with the rot of Vatican II.

Hey, hey - that kind of thing is not allowed on these forums, and it smacks of a schismatic and/or heretical attitude.

Whatever problems we face inside the Church today is not the fault of the Council.

My bad. Unable to edit but perhaps mods can simply delete the sentence. You & I disagree on what means it to be a faithful Catholic but there is no reason I need make gratuitous quarrels over the matter, especially on the first day of Lent

Friend, I completely understand your feelings about the matter. But such statements will get you banned in no time. Please don’t let that happen.

I tip my hat to your wise comment about quarreling - it shows a self-restraint on your part that is unfortunately sometimes lacking on the forums (I know that I’m, for one, often tempted to it, too).

But don’t be sure that you know what I think about being a faithful Catholic! This stuff is pretty seriously complicated. 😃

Have a great start to Lent!
