Joseph or Arimathea was, at best, a minor character.jonathon
Hi

What a minor character Joseph Arimathea was? When everyone of the twelve fled a way, he remained present on the occasion. The steadfast becomes minor and those who melted like ice at the time of trial become major. This also seems to be a work of Paul, in my opinion.

Jesus could assert himself for his claims and reasons; he needed no Paul/s, in my opinion; I love Jesus for his wisdom. Jesus feared nobody except GodAllahYHWH whose humble servant Jesus was, in my opinion.

Thanks

Why don’t you as well include Zaccheaus? Where did he go too? Maybe he went to the Philippines?

Imagination can be so rich, paarsurrey!

Hi

Who is this Zaccheaus, please? I don’t think Jesus ever mentioned about him. Did he?

Joseph of Arimathea was not as actively identified with Jesus as the apostles were. He had no reason to “fled away”. He was not one of the apostles.

Are you angry with St. Paul?

You do not know who Zaccheaus was. So, you have not truly read the entire bible, or even just the gospels.

Here: "And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, “Zaccheaus, make haste and come down; for I must stay in thy house today.” (Luke 19:5)

May I advise you to read the entire bible first before you insist your belief in the Quran about Jesus to be true.

That is one defect of yourself which caught you “half-naked” in this forum. Better read more of the bible so that you would not be caught not doing your homework. Ok, friend?

Shalom!

Hi

I am also of the opinion, that it was the shroud of Jesus; but if I would insist on that , the Catholics would, perhaps, say it was fake.

You seem to be a good person. May GodAllahYHWH bless you.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks
The Catholics do not call it fake.
So - if you believe it is real - then you must agree that Jesus died the way the Bible said He died.
And that He rose the way the Bible says He rose.

Correct?

God Bless you too, i think you seem like a good person as well. 👍

See, the actions of the Apostles feeling shows a stark contrast to the transformation they undergo with the Holy Spirit.

Don’t you agree?

Prooving that the lot of cowards, who altho loved Jesus, ran in fear from a duplication of persecution.

It is thru the Spirit of God that they were able to obtain the courage and knowledge and wisdom and so forth to go out and start the Church.

And it was the Spirit of God Whom helped them endure the same deaths for the sake of Jesus…
Jesus told them - they too would die for His sake.

I think the awesome transformation speaks of the power of God and not of man themselves. Who would have never went out otherwise if left to their own power to undergo the scourges of martyrship … and years of near starvation - beatings - jailings - and losing their friends to persecution thru the years.

A rich “publican,” that is, a tax collector for the Roman authorities, and precisely for this he was regarded as a public sinner.

Knowing that Jesus was passing through Jericho, this man was seized by a great desire to see him but, being small of stature, he climbed a tree. Jesus stopped beneath the tree and turned to him, calling him by name: “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house” (Luke 19:5).
NOTE: THEY NEVER MET PRIOR - BUT JESUS KNEW ALL THINGS SINCE HE IS GOD.

What a message in this simple phrase! “Zacchaeus”: Jesus calls by name a man who is despised by all. “Today”: Yes, his moment of salvation is now. “I must stay”: Why “must”? Because the Father, who is rich in mercy, **wants Jesus to go and “seek out and save what was lost” (Luke 19:10).

This grace changed his life.

I agree with you on all accounts, one thing you left out in regards to the complete transformation in spirit of the apostle and their commitment to the Truth the Way and the Life, and that is the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. I mean what greater confirmation to the truth than to see the one who had been crucified and killed be alive again as He had stated.

Paarsurrey, nobody knows for sure. So far, I have read about three speculations, which I included in my thread
“The Wedding of Jesus.” I personally checked one, and the other
two have only slight possibilities.

Only the Apostles knew for sure. And that was the reason why they rejected Paul’s application to join the Sect of the Nazarenes. They thought that he was either lying or crazy. They could not believe him when he said that he had met Jesus on the Road to Damascus. They knew that Jesus had not gone to Damascus.

paarsurrey;:
What a minor character Joseph Arimathea was?
Joseph of Arimathea is identified by that moniker four times in the New Testament:

(Mat 27:57 NAB-A) When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who was himself a disciple of Jesus.

(Mar 15:43 NAB-A) Joseph of Arimathea, a distinguished member of the council, who was himself awaiting the kingdom of God, came and courageously went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

(Luk 23:51 NAB-A) had not consented to their plan of action. He came from the Jewish town of Arimathea and was awaiting the kingdom of God.

(Joh 19:38 NAB-A) After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body.
When everyone of the twelve fled a way, he remained present on the occasion.
Mark 15 implies that only female disciples of Jesus witnessed the crucifixion.

To be alive after crucifixion is no proof of resurrection.
Yes, it is not resurrection. And no Christian thinks it that way! But to rise again on the third day from death…that is what Christians call resurrection.

No. The word “only” is not implied there. Not even a shadow of it is there. The four gospels supplement each other.

God alone knows for sure, not the apostles.

And where did you overhear that Paul’s application was rejected? I hope you would not become like paarsurrey…trying to stand-up here without using legs.

Hi

My question is that why NTBible , after the four gospels, ignores and does not mention of Mary the mother, Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea . Perhaps because they were among those who were present at the time of Jesus Crucifixion and knew inside out of the event; Paul might have feared that they would expose him, in my opinion.

Jesus could assert himself for his claims and reasons; he needed no Paul/s, in my opinion; I love Jesus for his wisdom. Jesus feared nobody except GodAllahYHWH whose humble servant Jesus was, in my opinion.

The center of the news conveyed is about Jesus, not about Mary. Is there any hadith specially dedicated to tell everything about Muhammad’s father, for instance?

No way, Peter accepted Paul. What is sect of the Nazarenes, anyway? Is that a Jewish claim for the follower of Christ?

Hi

Where was John standing and saw Jesus on the Cross? Kindly quote from Matthew, if he was there.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in the Quran.

Thanks
John was the bottom of the cross. There was a witness. Matthew was not at the bottom of the cross. Otherwise, John would have mentioned it. For sure, there was a witness. Off course, Muhammad was not born yet. So, he could not tell everything about the crucifixion.

Now, all you have to do is to use your own NT to prove it.
