This thread is so far off the original topic, it is incredible.
I was reading each post but got tired of it. It got to a point where I began wanting to bang my head against the wall. :banghead: This is my summation of what the thread turned into:
“Show me the proof!”
“You can’t handle the proof!”
“My view is truth!”
“Where is that in the Bible?”
“Show me the Scripture?”
“Why do I have to show proof from Scripture?”
“Why shouldn’t you be able to show proof from Scripture?”
“Theatrics, theatrics!”
“Pillar and foundation!”
“Save the drama for your momma”
“I can’t believe you believe that!”
“Would you actually read the Scripture?”
“Is that your private interpretation?”
“You just listen to the institution and not the Holy Word of God!”
“You refuse to see the Truth that is the Roman Catholic Church!”
“What is your deal?”
“What is YOUR deal?”
Seriously people.
Go back and read the first post, PLEASE! The original poster was asking where a Catholic gets his/her authority from with regard to teaching or evangelising. He wasn’t asking Catholics to question where Protestants get their authority for teaching, evangelisation or Scriptural interpretation. He wasn’t criticising Catholics for their belief in the Magisterium’s teachings with regard to doctrine, etc. He simply wanted to know where we as Catholics get authority for teaching and evangelisation. That’s it. It was a very simple question with a very simple answer and instead of people leaving it alone when someone answered it simply and correctly, others had to drag the thread down into Scripture slinging, derogatory and accusatory remarks, and insulting language. All I’m asking is that you remember your manners and be aware of what you’re saying before you hit the “submit reply” button. Be cognizant of what the original poster was saying and what his/her question was. This is something we should ALL do.
Above all, can we all be nice to each other? Seriously. If I catch anyone else being mean or rude or saying unkind things then they “no can haz cheezburgr.”
