there’s a far cry between friendly, a person who smiles and is polite and a person who is drooling and following you at 4 paces. If a person doesn’t think they make a good impression, then they need a VERY close friend who will sit them down and be frank.
As in :
Dude…you stare at people
Dude…you need a new pair of jeans that fit
Dude… the droopy drawers are not doin it for ya
Dude… maybe try shaving, haircut, etc.

A good friend is a boon. Everyone needs one. Women do it all the time. I had a friend tell me once.
“Gurl, you are not wearin’ that skirt, it’s wearing YOU!” LOL
I threw it out that day.
That is true and it lasts long after marriage. I have a good friend who can tell me anything, and he does. And I listen. On the flip side I got to return the favor and tell him that a “newsie” hat does not look good on anyone ever. EVER. And That now that he is going bald it is better to just shave it and call it a day. LOL he has always been the better looking of the two of us, but I am considering growing my hair out just to mock him…😃

I think it looks pretty sweet on 10-year-old Depression era newsboys or cast members of Oliver!

Everybody knows why you’re wearing the hat…

OH goodness! you bring up an excellent point.
Men, when your hair retreats…and there are few soldiers left standing, just go for it and shave it off! Many young men have very closely cropped hair, or shaved heads. Women MUCH prefer that to baby-ing the few remaining lonely hairs.
Just do it. You’ll look great. Some women even find those shaved heads sexy.
Honest.

Yes!

Fortunately, the comb-over has been practically laughed out of existence over the last 20 years.

However, there are still guys with thinning hair who let the remaining stuff get too scraggly. Frequent hair cuts are a great idea, even as (or especially as) hair thins.

or the balding older guy that insists on a ponytail.

Not published, but rather the answer a single person receives when inquiring about involvement. The parish can’t publish it because they’d be opening themselves up for a lawsuit!
No they wouldn’t! Churches can absolutely have policies like that without fear of a lawsuit. Think about it, your church has a published policy that women can’t hold certain positions, that married people can’t hold certain positions, that people of all other religions can’t hold certain positions, etc.

If this is not a written policy then it is probably just one of those things where married people are the most likely to volunteer. Go and talk to the priest about how you would like to be involved, and where he thinks that your talents and skills would be the most useful. It may be that he has the perfect thing in mind for a young single guy with lots of energy.

Yep.

RE:
Comb overs
Ponytails
Mohawks
the “terrorist” do
the perm

JUST SAY NO.
Unless you want to keep hearing NO. 🤷
What is “the terrorist”? Is it the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev look?

I’ve been taking my oldest to guitar lessons at Guitar Center, and those guys all seem to have pony tails. I believe there may be an exception for male pony tails if you are an actual musician.

Finding good Catholic woman or man is quite a challenge today. Even going to the Church and finding someone ones age is hard to find. If I had the means I would open up a Catholic Coffee shop so we can all meet and share coffee, books, and Catholic music together. This would be a great place for companionship and spiritual support. :coffee::juggle::bible1::grouphug:
Seems like such a place exists: stjamescoffee.com/

I would like going to a Catholic coffee shop, if it were in my home town, and I think this is a great concept as far as socializing and meeting people is concerned.

No. Its got a uneven and very overgrown beard coupled with a shaggy head of very uneven hair at right angles to the scalp.
charming.
:nope:

yes, being a musician gives a male a free pass for a pony tail. Or being a runner. For some reason, serious male runners can get away with ponytails too.

No, no, and no.

There are two things that give you a free pass for a ponytail if you’re a man:
  1. Being a hippie. Many musicians are hippies anyway. Now, it doesn’t really matter that I’m willing to give hippies a free pass, as they’ll do what they please with their hair anyway. 😉
  2. Having long, well-maintained dreadlocks that are pulled back into a low, loose ponytail. Think Jamaal Charles or Eddie Lacy.

My handy man and dear friend is a drummer in a band.
A really good band.
Years of house painting on the side has him stooped over.
He wears a mostly gray scraggly ponytail. People think he’s homeless.
He’s not! He is highly educated, wonderful, speaks 6 languages fluently, and a good Catholic dad with great grown children.
The ponytail is awful.
It doesn’t represent him at all. Drummer or not.
And I’m a musician myself.
Nope.
Not good.

Starbucks baristas? Or do they also need to be musicians to pull off pony tails?
I would not ever ever pay for coffee at Starbucks that was not made by a person with a ponytail. I believe it is part of the dress code. It is mandatory and they can even pay for extensions if you don’t want to wait for your hair to grow out.

Funny!

Do they provide temporary tattoos while you save up for real ones?
