Is John 14:16 the reference you’re looking for? The other place would be Matthew 28:20, where Jesus promises to be with the Apostles “to the end of the age.” Combined with John 16, where Jesus’ commissioning of the Apostles is described in some detail, Jesus specifically says that the Holy Spirit will come to them after He has returned to the Father, this shows that the presence of the Spirit is the presence of Jesus (since the Trinity is undivided).

Yes it does, thank you very much . You see, I have only recently started taking an active role in my faith and the teachings of the Church, and my Baltimore Catechism doesn’t come with alot of Scripture references .

I have some good links to orthodox Scripture commentaries I’ll look up now that I have a reference to go with.

Yes it does, thank you very much . You see, I have only recently started taking an active role in my faith and the teachings of the Church, and my Baltimore Catechism doesn’t come with alot of Scripture references .

However I recommend buying and owning a copy of the book. It’s cheap, and well worth every cent.

Also I recommend you start looking into Catholic Apologetic books. Apologetics is a great way to really jump start learning your faith (it’s the method I chose actually). In order to defend your faith, you have to know it first! So it makes sense that studying apologetics will force you to learn quick. Better still, in the context of apologetics catholic teachings get placed into groups of common questions about the faith (such as yours) with direct scripture (and some times tradition, mostly it comes directly from the bible though since most of our Apologetics is defending against protistant misconception). So in that spirit I’ll recommend the following books:

I actually already have the Catechism of the Council of Trent that I am beginning to pursue after having completed my reading of the Baltimore Catechism No. 3, but I will definitely look into your suggestions !
