Father,
I abandon myself into your hands; do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures—

Dear St. Joseph, you were yourself once faced with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety over my present inability to support my family. Please help me to find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from my heart and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care. Help us to guard against bitterness and discouragement, so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.

Employment Prayer 

Mary our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, you once experienced hardships and difficulties in getting the necessities of life. Look kindly on me now as I face the same difficulties. Help me to find suitable employment. Through my work I want to meet my physical needs and to grow spiritually. Help me find a job that lets me provide for myself and for those who depend on me. I trust you, Immaculate Mother, to hear my prayers and intercede for me. I will share your goodness with others that they may know your power with God and give him honor and glory. Amen.

The situation has gotten so strange that I’ve asked two people for their advice and they have no clue. I won’t ask for advice here because it’s the Prayer Intentions forum, and hey, if God is getting me into this, He knows best how to get me out.

The interview Friday with Company # 2 was canceled. Good thing I read my e-mail that morning. I rescheduled the interview for Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Company #3 wants to do a phone interview Monday morning, and the recruiter says they need to place someone in that position REAL FAST or it may be too late to meet project deadlines.

So of course my mind starts wondering things like, what if the recruiter for Company #3 wants me to hang out in my apartment all day by the phone waiting for the results of the morning interview? It would be awkward to tell him I will be “out running errands all afternoon, can you please call me tomorrow with any news?” It would also be horrible for me to not show up at the interview with Company #2 in the afternoon, for the ethical reason of I agreed to show up as well as, what if Company #3 says no, they don’t want me after all? And it would also be really bad if I go to the afternoon interview and the recruiter gets my answering machine and leaves a message like, “Where are you, do you want the job or not?”

Wow. I’m stymied.

Of course, I still need to successfully get through the morning interview in the first place …

Do you have a cell phone number to give Company #3, so you don’t need to hang about in your apartment…anyway, it’s Sunday morning already in Australia, and I need to leave for Mass in a few minutes.

I’ll pray for you at Communion.

As for a cell phone, I suppose I could give the recruiter a cell phone number … Of course I would need to have the cell phone turned off during the afternoon interview!

I should point out that for me simple things like a cell phone can be adventurous because I have a weird electromagnetism that affects machines and electronic equipment … I attract lightning and cannot wear a watch because the watch slows or stops, a compass will point the opposite or wrong direction (my car compass always liked to point SouthWest so I got rid of it), and one day when I left a cell phone turned on it seemed to drain of energy almost immediately …

That said, I could certainly give this option a try, keeping in mind that the interview is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. so for the last hour of the business day I would still be unreachable by cell phone since it would be purposely switched off while talking to the interviewer.

(Yeah, my normal life tends to be really strange … ) :rolleyes:

Your doing great under the circumstances.
I was thinking that in hard confussing times, God lives in us Christians. Actually in us!!WOW! and as we surrender to God, really surrender and abandon ourselves, not so much to the God out there,but the God in us, I find it is easier to handle my crazy life.
Really really ponder on how God is in you. He came to save us and as we confess our sins and ask Him to come live in us,He does. I know this may sound like I am not addressing your situations. But it is one way to put God first,and I know you do already,but coming from this view seems to bring more peace in the chaos.
It is very scarry to be in your situation. I think you actually have a good idea who you will go with,even though it may change ,those darn circles of life.
anyways I have been praying the rosary for you and often lifting you up to Jesus.
Your in a tornado and your at the center of it all swirling about you. But center is good, it seems God is clearing away alot in your life. I saw part of oz today and that tornado made me think of you. I wish I could pull a job out of a hat for ya. Your a very strong woman.

I am afraid I replied in a way more of a realization the Lord gave me and I was excited to share this with you.

I will be here for you as long as you need or want out friendship.
I know you do God’s will. and this seems,at least to me, this is one of your crosses in your life. It is a big one. It has upheaval family,people you thought you knew but didn’t. I am speaking generally, as we all have experienced these things. I think it is a part of growing in Christ. My heart goes out to you because I feel the pain and struggle with you. And as your friend, I want to carry as much of your cross I am allowed to by God.

I think we’re in a similar situation only that I have a stable job and i’m very grateful for this. But deep in my soul I’m yearning for something deeper- a job where I can live out my “true purpose” what God wants me to do- you know something like a “calling” I couldn’t feel it right now in my present job.

I join you in your quest and in your prayers.

Let us pray together that God may bring forth His Holy Spirit and enlighten us, give us the wisdom to know where He is leading us.

Come Holy Spirit, Fill the hearts of your faithful & enkindle in them the fire of your love, send forth your Spirit & they shall be created & you shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who did instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us the same spirit to be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation through the same Christ our Lord, Amen.

Take a deep breath, lol.
God got you this far, he will not have anything trip you up! Everything will work out and fall into place.

Lord, guide the phoenix to that place where you want her to be. Calm her when she is feeling stressed by the process. I ask that you answer her intentions through the intercession of Your Most Holy Mother, Mary.
