While I would love to continue living in Ohio, I’m not sure that I’m meant to anymore. Life has been challenging for the past two years and looks to become even more of an adventure. God has been merciful through His Divine Providence in providing me with enough short-term contract positions to get by … permanent jobs are more difficult to come by in my area, especially in my field. I am currently between contracts and looking for work.
At this point I’m open to moving and to going where the Lord sends me, hoping that life’s journey will take me to an area of the country where the Catholic Church is thriving.
Please pray for guidance and that the Lord will open doors to show me what I’m supposed to do and where I’m supposed to go next.
Know that you are in my prayers as well.

Phoenix, I’ve gone through my share of rough patches, and they do have a way of “sucking”. Read and Remember Romans 8 esp. verses 31-39 (the end of the Chapter).
What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things? Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
%between%As it is written,
“For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Phoenix, Remember that God doesn’t close a door in one place unless He opens one somewhere. I assume you’re already under Spiritual direction - Have you and your Spiritual director considered that this might be the time to consider the consecrated life - as Consecrated Married, Singles or even religious? (Sorry, Forgot whether you were married or single) Have you considered considered working with a ministry such a L’Arche, Catholic Worker Society, EWTN or Mother Teresa’s Sisters of the Poor? All have a need for Brothers & laborers in many of these ministries. Have you considered volunteering for the Church in Sudan? Bishop Gassis would be thrilled.
I hope you find something helpful here.
Your Brother & Servant in Christ, Michael
