that nothing unholy can enter heaven?
Revelation 21:27

“27 But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

All of the above plus Hebrews 12:22-24 “But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant.”

So, does scripture really say, just one sin without being in Christ sends us to Hell? How would we prove that?

No, scripture tels us there are two kinds of sin. Sin that sends us to hell is called *mortal *sin because it is deadly to the soul. But there is also sins that are not deadly. Theses are called venial sins. Venial sins do not send one to hell but they must be dealt with before one can enter heaven For as Rev 21:27 says nothing unclean can enter heaven and all sin is unclean. Venial sins are dealt with in the purification after death in what is termed Purgatory in Catholicism and *Final Theosis *in Orthodoxy. Most protestant denominations deny purgation after death

will two mortal sins kill the soul deader and will the fires of hell be turned up a bit more - twinc

What Scripture tells us is that if we have been saved by grace, when we enter eternity our works (deeds) which are like wood and straw will be burned away, while our works/deeds that are like precious metals and gems will be refined by the same fire. (1 Cor. 3:10-15) That’s what we generally refer to as purgatory, not hell.

Mortal sin is an intentional rejection of God, and Dante’s circles not withstanding, I don’t think you can be more or less dead. . . .
