Just research Trinitarian Theology. It’s one of the mysteries of 3 unified yet distinctly separate people.
But it still does not mean Jesus is God. He always spoke that 'The Father is greater than I " Also if He was God, then everything Jesus said and done would have been a lie, like praying to His Father, talking about what His Fathers will is, and dying on the cross .I do not think He would have done this.

Of course he was not lying. Jesus is not the same Person as the Father, which enables him to commune with him.

As for Jesus not knowing everything, yes he knows everything. But he was also true God and true Man, and as true Man, he was bound by the limitations of humanity. This is why he could grow in grace and stature and can honestly state that there are things he doesn’t know, and that the Father is greater then he, because these are all true in his humanity. However, in his divinity, he knows everything.

Jesus behaved, claimed and accepted divinity for himself, much to the anger of the Jews. There is no “middle ground” here. You either worship him as God, or reject him as a blasphemous madman.

BTW, the belief in the Trinity is a requirement to be properly called Christian.

If the Word was with God, does that imply that the word was God? If you are with someone, you are not the same as the person you are with.
There is no implication. It’s right there in the very same verse that the Word was both with God as well as being God.

Thomas after putting his fingers into Christ hands and side said my Lord and my GOD

One must not stop there. Also look at how Jesus responded. In all other examples in the Bible, when people attempted to worship angels or apostles, they would in every single instance correct them and admonish them not to worship them.

But Jesus did not such thing to Thomas. If he were indeed not God, he would be committing the highest form of blasphemy, hardly thinkable for a man who just rose from the dead a week ago.

That is an inaccurate translation. Simple English for the … If you think like a Jew you would know that Jesus is intentionally using the present tense and intentionally referencing a name of God. They took up stones against him because what he said was to them blasphemy. Blasphemy is a sacrilege of God or His Name or His Character. It is not just merely saying “well I lived before Abraham”, all the Jews would do would be to laugh and leave, not stone him. But did Jesus say no no no you misunderstand I will put this into simple English for you “I was alive before Abraham was born”.
Do you have the original Aramaic of the text?

No if the Word was with God you are correct in saying that it does not imply that the Word was God. I would suggest you read the next part ot the verse where it explicitly states and the Word was God.
Some Bibles translate that as the word was a god. Do you have the original text for that?

Persons, not people. Big difference.

It is also a FUNDAMENTAL TRUTH of Christianity that Jesus is GOD. If you don’t believe that Jesus is the Incarnate Son of the One God then you are something other than Christian. Perhaps Jewish? Muslim? Jehovah Witness? Mormon? Unitarian? Some of which claim to be Christian, but are not.
It is true that most Christians believe that Jesus was God. However, a Lutheran pastor I spoke with said that there are Lutherans who do not take think that He was equal to God. And of course, there are the other religions which hold Jesus to be a great prophet, and who perhaps existed before his earthly birth in some way or another, but is not equal to God. For example, the JW, the Muslims, the Unitarians.

He also said that the he and the Father are one.

He did say this. However, going a little further John 17: 21, 22 - He prays that his disciples may be one, - that they may be one with us.
Now, does this mean that if you are one with God, you are then equal to God, or does it mean that you are united in purpose?

As for Jesus not knowing everything, yes he knows everything.
But according to Matthew 24:36 - "“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
If Jesus the Son were equal to God, would He not know both the day and the hour?

Yes, in that broad liberal sense even Muslims are Christians!

But real Christians believe Jesus is God, the Son of the One True God, consubstantial with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

It is not fair to point to individuals in the Lutheran community who have divergent views, and claim that there is a difference of beliefs in the Lutheran faith. There are many areas where Lutherans can have divergent opinions on their faith, but the belief that Jesus is God is not one of them.

It would be similar to pointing to heretical Catholics who support abortion, and claiming there is some variety of opinion in the Catholic faith on the topic. There is none. There is one belief, and there are members who are faithful Catholics, and members who are not.

The only one I know of with that translation is the New World Translation of the JW’s. Are you a JW?

I have a Greek Diaglott a real favourite of JWs. And no it does not say the word was a god because there can only be one God. Any other god is a false god, therefore if the word was a god, it would be a false god.

Incidentally do you have the original text for that?

Could this be an exclamation of some sort?
Absolutely correct. It was an exclamation of Thomas, one of awe, “my Lord my God”. It was an exclamation of faith. I named my first born son Thomas for this exact reason. I had recently transitioned from believing that Jesus was a God-like man into believing like Thomas that Jesus is from the beginning God the Son. As also Philippians 2 states.

But according to Matthew 24:36 - "“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

Jesus is not equal to God. He IS God. This is the Christian faith.

Jesus is also true Man, and as true Man, had a human intellect that could also grow and learn. Hence, his ability to grow in grace and stature. In his humanity, he can truly state that he did not know the day and hour. In his Godhead, of course he did.

Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. Does that mean he wasn’t a man? Humility does not change the fact that Jesus was in the beginning equal with God, but let that go and took the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. He humbled himself became obedient unto death even death on a cross. Sorry I stand in awe of that.
