Hi everyone! When I went through RCIA 2 years ago I was taught to pray after communion “Lord let me become that which I just received” e.g. to be the Body of Christ in the world. I’ve heard that this (or something like it) came from St. Augustine, but my google searches have been fruitless. Does anyone know who this is attributed to?

Thanks!

Perhaps a prayer based on this quote from a sermon by St. Augustine: “Behold what you are. May we become what we receive.”

*Lord, may I become what I have just received.

I don’t know where it came from originally but what a beautiful, thought inspiring prayer!

There are so many post-reception prayers and intentions I never feel like there is enough time to pray then all, but I really, really like this one and hope to remember it today! Thanks!
