where does this pentecostal doctrine come from?

I am the type of person who tries to keep the neighborhood clean.

Today, on my walk, I picked up some trash. A neighbor came out to talk with me, I know she is a pentecostalist. She said, according to the Bible, the wicked are here to serve the righteous. I asked her if she believed that Jesus was wicked? When she said, no. I pointed out that he said that he came to serve. And, asked her if she follows his example?

I forgot what verse she quoted to prove her case. Where does this twisted theology comes from? What bible verses? What bible teachers?

Help me out here: why didn’t you just ask her? :confused:
 
I watched a movie recently with an Orthodox Jewish character who said something similar. I’d look in the OT. For some reason the psalms come to mind, but that may be way off.

Yeah, yeah, I got that part. But you also said, ‘NEIGHBOR’ and no where in your post did you suggest that you couldn’t go back to her to ask her for clarification.

Beats me. I belong to a Pentecostal church (Assemblies of God), and I’d never heard that one.🤷

But then again, there’s Pentecostal (mainstream) and Pentecostal (way out in left field). I think your neighbor is the latter.
 
My late aunt was Pentecostal…she described herself as “An Old Testament type Christian”…she held similar views…her husband and I got into a discussion on false imprisonment…men getting out of prison when it was proven by new evidence they were innocent of that particular crime…my uncle was of the opinion that even though they were not guilty of a particular crime…they WERE GUILTY OF SOMETHING that required prison since if they were innocent they would never have been put in that perdicament in the first place.

Paul stated something to the effect that Christians will rule and judge the world…maybe your neighbor is an “Old Testament Christian” in her political views.

She gave a quote, I just simply forgot it. I think it was from Psalms.

The point of this thread is not so much what verse, but what theology teaches this.
