Where does word of God teach the Catholic Church is infallible?

this is a very serious topic and I wish I understood it more clearly. I’m not sure it is right to characterize the decision of the bishops as a green light. It seems that the Pope, if anybody, gave the green light, but only on a case by case basis, I think he said. And he said it on the basis of existing Catholic teaching, especially that in the catechism.

The question gets so much attention because marriage and divorce are such public actions. I am not sure that getting a divorce is the unpardonable sin that some people want to make of it. It’s too complicated for me.

It all goes pear-shaped in Revelation with seven disparate, very fallible churches around 100AD and they supposedly had angels. Why should Rome be any different?

Actually, Tradition tells us that they were all Churches under the auspices of St. John, the author of Revelations. St. John was their Bishop. And Jesus Christ informed him which of his Churches were having problems. Since he was in exile, at the time, he passed on the Revelation so that they would know that their errors were known in heaven.

In other words, they were not disparate churches but members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Ah. So that is why John wrote the Book of John next after Revelation to affirm to the churches his version of the life of Jesus. Thanks.
