Are you sure you can’t describe anything about it? Did it involve any feelings at all? Did you hear something? Did you see something? Did LDS Doctrine suddenly make sense to you?

Q. What do you get when you cross a mormon with an athiest?
A. Someone who knocks on your door for no reason.

Q. What is the defination of Hell?
A. Spending eternity in Heaven with a bunch of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Or mormons.

Fascinating. However, could you describe at all what you experienced in your own words?

Sorry mate, but it’s true. If mormans would just lay it all out and say "there it is, take it or leave it, I would not have a problem at all. But, like all cons, the mark must be led gently down the slaughter chute until it it too late to turn back. Then, once you have them well hooked, you keep them in the pen by hanging their “salvation” on compliance with the norm. Worse than Communism.
 
I can’t speak for Hosemonkey, but perhaps this quote from the book The Light in the Forest helps show that we all can be different but respect each other or even come together on a certain subject: “Dogs can fight in the forest, but they are one against the wolf.” (Of course, in this case I think it is “wolves in sheep’s clothing”.)

One of the things that attracted me to the church was the doctrine of exaltation. It just makes sense. Why would we float around eternally playing harps on clouds? I know no one believes that, but ceasingly praising God and laying around all day sounds boring to me 😉

and here we see the real major difference between mormons and christians. Christians value WORHIPPING God. We see him as supreme, the one and only God anywhere ever who is uniquely divine. Mormonism appeals to the ego. why worship a God when you can be one? the disdain they have for praise and worship is matched only by their impatience to get out of this “servile” mortal state and get on with their exaltation. this is easily seen in the vast quantities of callings so that everyone can be president of something. and they love being called president. why? because their doctrine inculcates arrogance and hubris. after all the endowed members have been anointed and consecrated to become kings and priests so they are already pretty much Gods just waiting for a world to organize.

the fact that they think this “just makes sense” shows more of the mormon mentality than anything i could ever say.

I have always been dismayed at the Mormons’ cavalier and irreverent attitude toward God. I understand it though, because your god is just some guy who is a bit more advanced than you are (for now). Your god is small and unimpressive and yes, boring.

My God, on the other hand, is the true God of all that is seen and unseen. He is infinite and self-existing (the great “I AM”). To be fully in His presence and to gaze upon Him as He really is - to know this infinite being as intimately and completely as He knows me - could never be boring. We cannot comprehend what our lives will be like with God in eternity:
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.

It only took once,Ski. So then I sent the recipe to the old men in Salt Lake City. They are still trying to make it work. Every Sunday you mormons get a new version, but it’s still the same old stuff that has already been through the horse. You’re going to have to go to Baskin-Robbins to get your ice cream.😉
