Hi all,

As some have asked how I am, or what I have chosen to do I thought I would fill you in, along with a couple of things I need advice on.

Where I am

I have decided to return to RCIA. Although my wife and children (as we did this journey all together) will be baptized in Easter I will have to go through the it again as I dropped out after the 5th class. So I will start again fresh and will be baptized as soon as they let me. Which will most likely be the following Easter.

Advice on issue/topic one

Although I am 100% of the answer, I would like other peoples opinions on this. You see when i first started RCIA before dropping out I was thinking about which Saint name I would take on baptism. One Saturday evening I read up on Francis of Assisi. About 20 minutes later the program which was on TV mentioned his name. The next morning we all went to mass, and in the homily the priest first line was “I wish to tell you a story about Francis of Assisi” I was stunned and my wife was too as I had told her the story from the night before. Now it gets better, so I drop out of RCIA and the last 4 months it has been very quiet on the Saint front. However yesterday i made the decision to return to RCIA. I went to work, I am a cleaner in the Lutheran Church in my city as I am a full time Student. So I am cleaning the youth room and in the middle of floor is this prayer card, with what it looks like to be a monk on it. So I pick it up…and I just new…before turning the card over i just new…I smile…turn the card over…and what does it say? “A prayer of Saint Francis of Assis” I literally started laughing…I searched the church for an hour and couldn’t find another card like this anywhere… Do you think I am destined to take his name at baptism? thoughts/opinions on this? Do you think I was picked rather than me picking…

Thoughts/opinions on issue two

Ok this may be long…but I really would like to know what you would do or suggest I do with this so say “lucky gift”. Last night I spoke with a women at the church who runs the Rosary club. I did this because i have always felt a Mary in my life and I mean…really felt her. even when I was attending the Church of England I used to secretly pray the Rosary as I could always feel her with me, hugging me, guiding and loving me. I have NEVER felt this when I pray any other way. Its like I have this real relationship with the holy mother. Every time I pray the rosary, which I do all the time in my head I can feel, sense her like someone wrapping blanket around me. The lady at my church said its a lucky gift to have her in your life with such a strong influence and also told me I wise for coming back to the church as she is pulling me here. after talking for 2 hours she told me she knew people who have been trying so hard for years to get or to find the kind of relationship with her as I have…but I went years without even trying to have one…or even caring…and even ignoring her.

I suppose I want advice on what I can do with this relationship I have unknowingly found/been given/developed? I am thinking along the lines of helping people devlop their relationship who are struggling, giving them advice, praying for them…something…What would YOU do with this if you were me? I really want to use it for good, and help!? maybe set up a Marian class…?!? any ideas…If the holy mother has called me to her…it must be for a reason…maybe I will go and ask her…

Welcome Home! It does seem like St. Francis has taken an interest in your conversion. Have you read up on him? He had a very full and Christ-focused life. Our Lady of Fatima asked us to pray the rosary everyday, it would mean a lot to her if you would promote that devotion.

It could very well be. I couldn’t say for sure. What I can share with you is a similar experience that I had but with my confirmation name. My confirmation name Theresa, named for St. Theresa of Lisieux, was chosen for me. Well that started me wanting to know about her and I remember reading about her when I was young not that I recall everything I read but I remembered enough that I immediately shared a kinship with her. Her little ways have gotten me through so much. I do believe God does provide for us what we need in our spiritual journey to Him and sometimes it comes to us in the little ways. Come to think about it, it almost always comes in the little ways. 🙂

*I could not tell you what I would do if I was you but I like your ideas.
I can tell you I thank God very day for giving me Our Blessed Mother Mary for my mentor.
I have found that going to her is what has helped me the most in my relationship with our Dearest Mother. Spending time with her, pouring my heart out to her, taking all my worries, questions and troubles to her. She has always been the only one in my life to know my heart, mind and soul in a way that only a mother who has only my best interest at heart could. I found that the reason she called me to herself was so that she could prepare me to meet and get to know her Son in a way I could never have dreamed to be possible. So my suggestion as to what to do with this special relationship you unknowingly found is yes, ask her, confide in her and trust her to lead the way and show you. You will be amazed.

I like your web-site. The pictures are beautifull.

I have actually picked up a book today. It is a small information book on the life Of St Francis of Assisi.
