In reality, the fact that He created me, means I have a relationship with Him, no matter if I never pray a single day in my life.Where in Catholic teaching does it mandate to follow Tradition?
A major tactic of Protestants is to preach that Holy Tradition is not necessary to be followed. Protestants say that Holy Tradition is just a series of meaningless rituals, and they are not necessary to have a relationship with God.
As my missionary friend says, Catholics preach a system, but Protestants preach a relationship.
If we were to go by that logic, then every epistle in the NT, is good enough for that group of people the letter was addressed to and for that time period only. I don’t see these letters have an expiry date. These letters were widely circulated and read in many churches then and now. That admonition was for the Thessalonians, but how do we know it’s also for us in 2014 AD?
Sacred Traditions are Church beliefs handed down since Christianity began from the Apostles. Examples would be Mary Ever Virgin, Assumption of Mary, Immaculate Conception. Perhaps the Trinitarian concept may be considered as such too. There are no new inventions. All this stuff has been accepted by Church Fathers and Christians very early in Church history. Only when there are disputes would a Council be formed to put in writing what had been known and practiced. They were not invented by the Councils. Those who claim new inventions are typically those who are too lazy to do their homework and research the Church Fathers and early writings. Also, this begs the question, how do we know that today’s Church in 2014 AD proscribes the same traditions that Jesus proscribed when he was on earth?

If it’s in the inspired Word of God, it’s for all time. That admonition was for the Thessalonians, but how do we know it’s also for us in 2014 AD?
Read, study, pray. Also, this begs the question, how do we know that today’s Church in 2014 AD proscribes the same traditions that Jesus proscribed when he was on earth?
Wouldn’t Protestants and Evangelicals then say that their own traditions are merely evolved versions of Catholic traditions? Why do we have to observe traditions in the Catholic style?Sacred Traditions are Church beliefs handed down since Christianity began from the Apostles. As someone else said 2 Thessalonians 2:15. Also it is because of our relationship with the Lord that we follow His traditions.Where in Catholic teaching does it mandate to follow Tradition?

we don’t have to do anything, God give’s us free will. He just makes suggestions that will lead to life eternally with Him.Wouldn’t Protestants and Evangelicals then say that their own traditions are merely evolved versions of Catholic traditions? Were their traditions apostolic? If their clock starts in the 15th century, these won’t be apostolic. What new traditions could they bring that the Catholic Church already not know of? Why make copies of it when the originals are there? Why reinterpret when there is no need to?Wouldn’t Protestants and Evangelicals then say that their own traditions are merely evolved versions of Catholic traditions? This describes us. We were heavily involved in worship ministry (music ministry) for years and discovered we had been chasing the music, the entertainment, the gimmic.Or you could ask the many protestants who have come Home to the Church that Jesus founded why the Truth was more important than being entertained.
When it comes to teachings of faith and morals there is nothing the Catholic Church can learn from Protestants.Because, for those who have converted from Catholic to Protestant, the “system” has precluded a relationship with God. For them, it really was empty rituals. For them, they did not experience God for the first time until they stepped into a Protestant church. Could it be, then, that Protestant churches are doing something right to help people believe in God, and foster community? Is there something Catholics can learn from Protestants? Maybe the rock bands are worth it after all?
That is just plain wrong thinking. I can tell you from personal experience that as a Catholic revert it was when I left the Catholic church my relationship with God was lost. I couldn’t find that relationship there. It was empty and left me searching, lost and confused. I was deceived by the very argument you give and it was the most confusing time of my Christian experience. There are many Catholics who will tell you the same story. What I found, what they find is confusion and empty churches.Because, for those who have converted from Catholic to Protestant, the “system” has precluded a relationship with God. Christ established only one Church and that was the Catholic Church. He entrusted the Church with the Deposit of Faith and gave it authority to teach.
Mainstream Protestants have some of the truth but only the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth.
If you are looking for gimmicks then look to Protestants but the one true Church does not go in for that.
