Hi Everyone,
This is just a quick question, where in the bible does it say that Jesus said there will be no prophets after him, and any other prophet is false, can you point it out for me, i cant find it…

***Hi, dolphinlove!

Jesus did not actually say that there were no prophets after Him and that any other would be false…

Jesus was actually speaking about John the Baptist; since all of the Messianic Prophecies referred to Him (St. John 1:45) and John the Baptist was His precursor, John would be the last of the Old Testament Prophets. (St. Matthew 11:13-15)

This is also understood by the Apostles as attested by various Writings: 1 Corinthians 12:28-29; 14:29, 32, 37; Ephisians 3:5; 4:11…

Also, I think that you are thinking of two distinct passages, the above and the following:

23 Then if any man shall say to you, Lo here is Christ, or there: do not believe him. 24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. 25 Behold I have told it to you, beforehand. 26 If therefore they shall say to you, Behold he is in the desert: go ye not out. Behold he is in the closets: believe it not. 27 For as lightning cometh out of the east and appeareth even into the west: so shall also the cowling of the Son of man be.*** (St. Matthew 24:23-27–DRV)

Jesus warns about those who would attempt to usurpe Him by calling the people to themselves (we’ve already have had quite a few in our late history) and Peter and others speak on the false prophets that would attempt to lure Christians away from the Faith.

The Church teaches that Jesus contained the fullness of the Father’s message to mankind. His teachings were committed to the Apostles “once and for all”.

Jude 3-4
contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

That is why public revelation ceased with the death of the last Apostle.
