Anyone knows where I can find a phrase about Jesus saying ‘I did not come to bring peace, but a sword’ or something like it.
Matthew 10:34-39Anyone knows where I can find a phrase about Jesus saying ‘I did not come to bring peace, but a sword’ or something like it.
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man ‘against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.’ Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. hoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Thanks!Matthew 10:34-39
Here is a great tool where you can use keyword search through the whole Bible, New/Old Testament only, Pauline epistles only etc…you can search in different versions as well, including the Douay-Rheims. It’s very user friendly and helps with those brain cramps we all get.Anyone knows where I can find a phrase about Jesus saying ‘I did not come to bring peace, but a sword’ or something like it.

That Douay-Rheims does not seem to have the deuterocanons, no? I turned up nothing when searching for “Tobit,” “Tobias,” or “Raphael”.Here is a great tool where you can use keyword search through the whole Bible, New/Old Testament only, Pauline epistles only etc…you can search in different versions as well, including the Douay-Rheims. Yes, the DR does have the the book of Tobit. The online Bible references are usually evangelical/protestant so they do not consider it “biblical.” Therefore they only match the DR translation with what exists in their own abridged Bibles. That Douay-Rheims does not seem to have the deuterocanons, no? NoCurious. . . Were you listening to father Corapi the other day? When he was talking about this?
