Where is Jesus as the messiah described and mentioned in the old testament? Does the old testament tell how he will come? If so do you know where or what verses it is in. TY.
Here’s a list of common Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah:Where is Jesus as the messiah described and mentioned in the old testament? Does the old testament tell how he will come? If so do you know where or what verses it is in. TY.

Prophecies from Every Deuterocanonical BookThanks Dmar and Lily,
Great lists,
and for the Deuterocanonicals let’s include the Book of Wisdom,
Wisdom of Solomon 2:13
He professes to have knowledge of God… …and calls himself a child of the Lord.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
Thanks for the valuable additions!Wow thanks a lot Lily and dmar and all
With all the prophecy about Jesus in the Bible, science looks like a fiction to me, coz it turns out sciene can explain too little
My favorite Prophecy about the coming of The Messiah is Isiah 61, which later being read by Jesus Himself after he cameback from fasting in the dessert. By reading this passage Jesus proclaim Himself as the fulfilment of that very passage !
Isiah 61
Because the LORD has anointed me
Code:The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
2.* To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD
And the day of vengeance of our God;
Luke 4 (caps not mine, bold is mine)
17. And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
18. “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
19. TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”
20. And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
21. And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
He hasn’t stop amazes me tooThanks for the valuable additions!It always amazes me how Jesus fulfilled all these prophecies. I don’t see who could doubt that he IS truly the Messiah!
What is amazing about what Jesus does NOT say from ISAIAH 61 in Luke is the last phrase “The day of vengenance of the Lord”. We should be very grateful that He chose to close the book and is saving that prophecy for a latter date!Thanks for the valuable additions!It always amazes me how Jesus fulfilled all these prophecies. Thank you for the statistics. They are very valuable! I have come to believe atheists are very stubborn and hard-headed! It seems to be en vogue these days to not believe in Christ rather than to consecrate one’s life to him. I don’t care how unfashionable I am - I belong to Christ!What is amazing about what Jesus does NOT say from ISAIAH 61 in Luke is the last phrase “The day of vengenance of the Lord”. Also I have seen some do a probability study that one man could fufill just 8 (e.g., be born in Bethlehem, ride a donkey as a King) … you just took 8 prophecies and assigned a probability that one man could fuffill all eight, the odds would be so astronomical, like one chance in 16 Trillion. There is no doubt about Jesus yet so many do not wish to believe the Bible and in Jesus Christ.
I agree, Francisca!He hasn’t stop amazes me too![]()
