I’ve been searching for some organization that is in fact like Don Bosco. But all I find are high dollar organizations. Nothing really for troubled kids today.
Does anyone know of a group that really mimics St. John Bosco that doesn’t cater to the wealthy families?
The Mount Carmel Youth Ranch out West wanted $7,500 a month to take in a delinquent youth. lmao. That’s so Don Bosco.

If I had $7,500 a month, i’d start my own oratory for troubled youth.

If you are looking for a group that mimics St. John Bosco, I’d suggest you look into the Salesians since they are the order he founded. See if there are any in your area.

Thank you. I tried many.
There are many, but they don’t mimic St. Bosco.
Salesium school is for the fortunate, not the unfortunate. salesianum.org/

I even asked a few De Sales priests to help me out with some kid.
All they say is they will pray. That’s the easy way out.

My parish is Salesian. It has a youth centre. The fees for the youth are $5 a year. There are three or four different youth groups that are free, but they are spiritually oriented, prayer and service to the community. There is an internationally lauded dance youth group, which does cost more, but the biggest thing with that is that they do expect the child to participate three times a week when they are preparing for a dance concert. I’m going to a fundraiser tonight, where some of the youth have created a play. The funds go to third world relief funds. I hope you do find something. My son benefited through his mid-teen to adult years there.

Thank you very much for your help!
Maybe I should start my own in my area.
