Here is an explanation about this issue from a Muslim scholar:

islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?pagename=IslamOnline-English-Ask_Scholar/FatwaE/FatwaE&cid=1119503544940

And the Muslims who have replied before me, I am bemused seeing their effort to drag the discussion off-topic.
Besides, It was informed to the christian friends here that:
1 The Hadith about the age of Aisha at marriage being 9 years is a false Hadith. It was related by an inventor of Hadith. He was a liar. So there is no need to base any argument on that Hadith.
2. It was also proved that Aisha was born before 610 A.D. i.e. before any revelation was received by the prophet. All the children of Abu bakr were born before any revelation was started. So Aisha was 13 years old when the prophet migrated to Madinah, i.e. 622 A.D.

If she was married two years after migration of the prophet then she was at least 15 years old. She was the only young virgin wife of the prophet. All the other wives were either widows or divorcees.

There was no lust involved in that marriage or any other marriage of the prophet.

Now, I bring around a part of the post #99 of B W.Please see below:
From B W,
Narrated Aisha:
I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah’s Apostle and I used to say, “Can a lady give herself (to a man)?” But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).’ (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), “I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires.” [Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 311; emphasis mine]
What is meant by that 33.51? There seems to be some mistake in the post of B W.

The closest deciple of the prophet Mohammed (PBUH) when started preaching Islam was Abu Bakr. No other companion of the prophet made sacrifice for the sake of Islam like Abu Bakr did. Abu Bakr then felt establishing a blood relationship with the prophet of God and at the same time it was also the wish of God. Thus there was the proposal and the marriage took place.

At the moment I can’t tell you why the marriage was consummated when Aisha was 9. But Surely it was not for to wait and let Aisha achieve her puberty. What saddens me most are the posts of this thread which are basically saiyng this marriage was nothing but just demonstration of the lustful nature of the prophet of Islam (Naujubillah). The prophet of Allah was above of all sorts of such inclinations and sin, though you guys might not believe. And how do you guys know that prophet had sexual intercourse with Aisha when she was 9 years old? May be he had intercourse with her when she was 14 or 15.

I’ve recently been studying Shia Islam, and although I am not taking sides (as I know you are Sunni), there seems to be a strong case that Ali was at least just as strong a companion as Abu Bakr was. He was Mohammad’s nephew, one of the first people to embrace Islam (to the point of even telling his father to embrace it), took a place in Mohammad’s bed to fool the Quarish and allow Mohammad to escape, and I believe he was one of the three Muslims who fought the three Quarish representatives at Badr. Ali, in fact, (if I recall correctly) married Mohammad’s daughter Fatima (and I don’t recall her being 6 years old when it happened), giving him two grandchildren. In this case, there already was a blood relationship to the prophet, and a marriage to Aisha would not have been necessary.

In any case, I’m just curious if there is a hadith source that says it was for political reasons that Mohammad married Aisha.

The reason some may respond this way or play suspect is because Mohammad’s teachings were not always that holy, at least as that becoming a prophet.

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “If a husband calls his wife to his bed (i.e. to have sexual relation) and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning.” [Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 460]
And how do you guys know that prophet had sexual intercourse with Aisha when she was 9 years old? May be he had intercourse with her when she was 14 or 15.
Because of what sahih hadith sources say, which I can willingly supply here.

Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death). [Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64]

Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that ‘Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)." what you know of the Quran (by heart)’ [Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65]

Narrated 'Ursa:
The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death). [Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88]

The hadith of the Bukhari is true.

However, marrying doesn’t mean having sex. You may have sex later.

BTW, in my book, shias are not Muslims. Hence, I reject anything presented by shias.

Wow…that is like Christianity of many centuries ago. Catholics calling Protestants heretics and vice versa. There are still a few from each side that do that. Thank God that their numbers are very small.

I understand that. However, the emphasis here is on the word “consummation.”

con⋅sum⋅mate
  1. to bring to a state of perfection; fulfill.
  2. to complete (an arrangement, agreement, or the like) by a pledge or the signing of a contract: The company consummated its deal to buy a smaller firm.
    3. to complete (the union of a marriage) by the first marital sexual intercourse. source]
So the marriage at age 6 is of no consequence (although marrying a 6-year old based on a dream, I must admit, is a bit questionable). The consummation at age 9 is where the discussion begins.

I understand, hence why I said was not taking sides and acknowledged you were Sunni. 🙂 I was simply presenting that there was a blood relation to the prophet by a respected companion already.

We have one Shia muslim member on here - user name Famdigy

We gave one Ahamadi muslim member on here - user name Planten

I understand Sunni islam does not consider them muslims, but they believe they are 100% muslim.

Also, we know the Bukhari hadiths are true based on the information from REAL islamic sites which stated that all of Bukhari hadiths are authentic.

However, we have some muslim members here who tell us that they are fake hadiths by Bukhari… 🤷

It seems that when a hadith from Bukhari shows mohamad in a great light the hadith is real, if it shows mohamad in a bad light, it’s a fake, although we will quote Bukhari.

Not only are they Muslim…but we’ve been wished a Merry Christmas by Planten. In Syria…a predominantly Muslim country…the Christian holy days of Christmas and Easter are national holidays. 🙂
