Jesus’ authority. Which, as a non-Catholic Christian, I have a hard time believing is invested in Rome.
Follow up question…if you believe it is not invested in Rome:

Do you believe it was invested in Rome at some time in the past history of the early Church?

And if yes…then when do you think Jesus removed or disinvested it in Rome?

So as not to derail a different thread on "What is the Bible? I will begin a new one with the question: “Where is the Bible?”

I’m particularly interested in Catholic responses—but others would certainly be interesting as well. Does the Bible exist in time and space? If you think so, please provide specifics as to its location–GoogleMaps would be fine 😉 Or does it exist in the imagination of a particular scholar or pope? And if so, who? Can we access this imagined Bible? Or are there different ideas of the Bible depending on who you ask, but no ONE Bible?
I have one on my night stand 😃

But, I have to ask: Which Bible? 🙂

Right. And that includes plenty of Catholics interpreting things for themselves. Which I illustrated with the poll. And then someone said “What poll?” and I pointed to that other thread. And then you brought it back to this and honestly, I can’t make heads or tails of what you’re trying to say to me. 🤷

Going round and round like Ratt is starting to wear me out. But you seem sincere, I’ll give you that 🙂 That counts for a lot, I should think. I mean, it does with me.
So because someone else is doing it then it is ok to do it?..

In the end, true Catholics will conform with Church teaching. Not go and make a new denomination…

So you would say that there is not one Bible (in particular) but many Bibles–or many things that could be considered “the Bible.”

Of course,

There’s the Woodworking Bible, the Knot Bible, the Brick Bible, the Carpenter’s Bible, et al

And then there is the Catholic Bible, the Orthodox Bible and the shorter non-Catholic non-Orthodox Bible.

There are all kinds of Bibles.

Fundamentalist Christians know where the** ‘original Bible’** is; it is in the Vatican Secret Archives, on a podium locked up (with a chain attached to it) so no one can read it! 😉
Well, your a Catholic! Can’t you pull some strings, and let us see it?😃
