Where is the Silent Muslim Majority

it’s usually when i say that someone is not a muslim or following the quran, hadith or sunnah. suicide bombers are a great example. you and i both know the rules of engagement laid out so i’ll explain them real quick for those who don’t.
you can’t kill children, holy men(of any faith), women, people who are praying, people who are fleeing from you, people who are worshipping and prisoners of war (even infidels). yet hostages are getting their heads cut off, masjids are being bombed (with worshipping MUSLIMS, NOT INFIDELS INSIDE, and we’re taught to NOT kill muslims). these guys are blatantly defying scripture, sunnah and hadith and when i criticize them, i get attacked, usually in pm. why can’t i say something? i just want what is right. is that too much to ask? can’t i stick up for what i believe in?

The thing is that it is very grave sin to call a muslim to be a non muslim.

He can be the worst guy there is . May be he will spend some good hundred years in hell for his sins. But its very dangerous to take him out of Islam . Because his islam isnt somthing between him and hi ssociety its between him and God. God will account him for it .

The thing you can say is that he is not acting in any islamic teaching or manner .

Ofcourse. There are exceptions but thats a long story.

Maybe the Muslim majority feels that if they say anything they’re just going to get criticized and told that “most Muslims are violent” so they just don’t bother. I’ve honestly never personally known a Muslim who had any kind violent agenda.

My issue is…there are far and too few of these reasonable voices.

A problem is that the mainstream media is interested in covering exciting news. Reporting on one more moderate condemning violence, isn’t very interesting news so it doesn’t get much news coverage.

I was listening to public radio this morning and one of the guests of the talk show On Point, with Tom Ashbrook was Imam Salih Yucel, Second Imam at the Revere Mosque in Revere, Mass. He condemned the violent actions in the wake of the Pope’s controversial speech. But his statement that such violence was contrary to Islam didn’t make any headlines or news stories. If I hadn’t heard it, and then wrote about it here, none of you would have known about it.

I would tend to agree with you!

I would say that where the Silent Muslim Majority could have the most value is taking away the microphones from the idiot mullahs and immams that spew this venom to their flock. They need to expose their elders who are spreading hate and remove them from their posts.

I am less worried about good TV than I am about Islam putting real effort to policing thier own.

It might have to do with the assymetry of responses. On the one hand you have Muslim mobs burning churches, demonstrating, burning effigies, shooting nuns in the back etc. On the other hand you have one or two Muslims nobody has heard of condeming violence to a journalist. Where is the appropriate response? One might think a larger, more vociferous response is required. Meek voices get drowned out by those who shout ‘Allahuakbar’ while holding placards saying ‘Islam will dominate the world’, ‘Europe - your 9/11 is coming’, ‘Stop calling us violent or we will kill you’.

Silent majority? Do not get me wrong I respect Molsems just as I do my Christian breteren (maybe not as much but what is at least required). I admit that their are peaceful Moslems out there in the world, but I am convinced that Islam itself is a violent religion. I less than 100 years after it was created the Islamic World stretched from Spain to India. This was done by the sword. In fact I believe that the “silent majority” is probably a minority. If anyone can correct me on this or list any histotrical evidence to provem me wrong on this I am open to discuss it. God speed.

No one of the staunch Muslim experts here even paid any attention to me or to what i wrote. No one even asked me if i truly believed in what i just said.

Why bother condemn and speak out if you are going to demonise me any way ?! Why Bother condemn or speak out if no body is listening ?!!!

For many people here The problem is Islam . Not what muslims do . Even if they were a few .

Your media doesnt cover any glimpse of any condemnation or other opinions said by any peaceful muslim.
