Hey, there’s skiing in the southern part, too… Ruidoso, which is where I work and 25 miles from where I live! (And closer to Carlsbad than Santa Fe and Taos.)You beat me to it. I was also going to add that there is skiing in NM! The mountains north of Santa Fe have skiing and if there is enough snow the eastern slope of the Sandia’s in Albuquerque have skiing (not something I do so I can’t tell you which ski areas are open or how much snow is in each one).

I love Santa Fe… my SIL is an extern at the Carmelite Monastery there! We’ve been to Chama (the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Narrow Gauge Railroad) and want to take the kids camping up there sometime. My brother lives in Albuquerque. I have uncles in Roswell, cousins in Hobbs. And we live down the road from White Sands National Monument. Lots of cool places to visit in New Mexico.
