Is it appropriate for the Deacon of the Mass to be sitting at the altar during the actual distribution of Holy Communion by a Eucharistic Minister? Or should the Deacon stand at the altar during the distribution until the distrution of Holy Communion is completed? I could not find anything within the GIRM? Your thoughts please!!

The deacon and the priest are the ones are the ordinary ministers of the Eucharist and should be administering the sacrament–not the laity. The laity are to help when needed. But the deacon and priest should never sit while the laity does their work.
