My family is Catholic. We have a 4 year old that is too young for PSR, but will go when he is old enough. My wife wants to put him in preschool to help him prepare for kindergarten. The question is: my wife wants to put him in a Presbyterian preschool because it is less expensive. My thought is that since we are Catholic, we should put him in a Catholic preschool, regardless of the additional cost. It’s not that we can’t afford the additional cost of a Catholic preschool, But because it is cheaper, that us what she wants to do. What are your thoughts?

Hi,

The next thing I expect to hear about is a pre-pre-school. Kindergarten is supposed to get the child ready for school. Keep the child home until then. What a waste of money. Those early years will never come again. Let the child enjoy one more year of such intimacy in the family. The child has the rest of life to adjust to the world outside. But if you must send the child out this early, let the environment at least be Catholic.
