I usually burn incense sticks near the fire place for prayer, but I wanna know if its safe to burn incense within a room of a house? 😁

Well…if you want to be really technical, burning things in your home is neither safe on a health or home safety standpoint.

Insense sticks have the added danger of being easily forgotten, unlike a candle, they are not self-contained. If you’re doing it in a fireplace, it would negate that danger.

As far as the smoke. It’s really not healthy to breathe in smoke, even if you can do so without consequence. That said it’s not that bad in comparison to the environmental hazards we face each day–well at least city dwellers.

The last danger I’d warn about is disabling smoke alarms.

DON’T DO IT.

If you cannot burn incense without setting off a smoke alarm, then you cannot do it in your house. Disabled smoke alarms are killers.

Why wouldn’t it be safe? Treat it with the same respect you would a candle. And make sure you have a proper holder for it.

I only use thin stick incense without a wood core and in an incense holder dish. It is on a table and I watch it. It does not have alot of smoke, as there is no wood.

How do you manage to pray in a room that smells like a brothel?

Get some real incense, charcoal and a small burner and use that. I would never use incense sticks.

Try Legacy Icons for incense and supplies. They have great incense. The also sell the little burners, and charcoal.

*waits for the incense and charcoal are not good for your health responses"
