Hi,

I have been looking to get another Rosary, however, when I search the internet, I keep only finding good ones in America and then more than half my dough is blown on shipping.

I was just wondering whether anyone would be able to help me find some Australian places to purchase Rosaries from, especially ones like these -

holylandtreasuresonline.com/Store/Products/Item/-68/1/720.html (This one I thought was perfect, however, just for one Rosary it was $42.22 USD so about $45.00 AUS to ship it here, unless I could afford about 10-15, shipping was more than the actual item).

Anything like the following above would be excellent, namely, small beads so that it can fit comfortably in a small pocket, long enough to wear around the neck, wooden beads (preferably dark brown or black). And the price range I was hoping to be as cheap as possible, between $0 - $15.00 each (Buying for family members and friends too).

p.s. If you also find some that don’t fit these specifications but you believe looks nice and you think I might like, please don’t be shy to share it too. I especially like humble rosaries that look inexpensive, that’s why I am very much drawn to wooden rosaries (I am also a big fan of St. Benedict Wooden Rosaries however I haven’t found any that I have really liked except for one that I can’t find anymore and I know with my specifications I’m definitely pushing my luck here). 🙂

Anything you can find online like this in Australia would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you 🙂
Josh

ebay Australia has a large selection of Rosaries. You also might want to contact some of the monasteries in Australia. In the US, many sell Rosaries, crucifixes and other religious objects as a means to support the work of the monks/nuns. If nothing else, they might point you to a good source.

Hi Josh,

I was going to recommend a Rosary made of out olive wood, too.

I am in the US, and I know that you are looking for something in your area, or something that can be reasonably shipped there.

I am just recommending olive wood, because I have items made out of it, and it is so lovely. 🙂

Good luck with your search.

If you can get some 6 or 8 mm olive wood beads, I’ll make one for you for free.
You’ll need 60 of them. Many places online sell them, free shipping. Just have them sent directly to me.
Peace,
Clare

You could also make your own. There are free instructions online from Rosary Makers.
haha, thanks, but my previous attempts at making a Rosary failed miserably. lol

However, I did like the instructions on how to have ‘knot’ beads so to speak, that looks like it might come in handy if I ever attempt one again.

Oh whoa, thank you for such an offer pianistclare. However, it’s all good. Thanks again for that offer though, and just out of curiosity, do you make corded and chained rosaries? or ones like these -

ebay.com/itm/OLIVE-WOOD-BEADS-ROSARY-CHAPLET-NECKLACE-SPECIAL-CROSS-MADE-IN-HOLY-LAND-/221350060986?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33897de3ba

holylandtreasuresonline.com/Store/Products/Item/-68/1/720.html

But adjust things like the crucifix, centerpiece and beads?

Thanks again everyone 🙂

God Bless

Josh

Hi again josh,

You’re welcome. 🙂

I am so happy that you found what you were looking for.

I took a look at that e-bay link, and that Rosary sure is lovely. I like the natural markings and variations that are in the olive wood. It is kind of fun to look at them.

Actually, I was reading about how to make the chain Rosaries and maybe that would be the way to go, do you believe an inexperienced rosary maker (and when I say inexperienced, I mean has never made one :)) could make a chain rosary that looks like the one I’m thinking of purchasing -

ebay.com/itm/OLIVE-WOOD-BEADS-ROSARY-CHAPLET-NECKLACE-SPECIAL-CROSS-MADE-IN-HOLY-LAND-/221350060986?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33897de3ba

And whether if I made it myself, it would be a lot cheaper? I just don’t know where I would buy the parts and my biggest worry is about misjudging sizes.

God Bless

Thank you for all your help

Like the first one…with eyepins and chains, gold or silver.
So happy you found just exactly what you want.
I use ebay a lot. Best place to buy loose beads.
Congrats!

I have been watching some youtube tutorials on making a chain rosary and I have decided that I will make my own chain link rosary, I would mainly like to ask any info that you guys could give me regarding making my own chain link Rosaries like the ones linked that I was going to buy.

Especially where I can buy parts, and where I can buy the bits and pieces needed to make one, namely the wire, the special pliers, etc.

Thank you all very much for your help 🙂

🙂 May I ask if you would be able to help me with everything I need to make one that looks like the one I was going to purchase.

Thank you pianistclare 🙂

I was hoping one that looks exactly like this - ebay.com/itm/OLIVE-WOOD-BEADS-ROSARY-CHAPLET-NECKLACE-SPECIAL-CROSS-MADE-IN-HOLY-LAND-/221350060986?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33897de3ba

With the only altercations being, a miraculous medal centerpiece (same size as the original in the image which I am not sure what the size is) and different color beads, namely dark brown or gray and smaller chain and beads if I can.

Any info on how the best way to go about this you could give me would be very much appreciated, thank you. 🙂

Josh

It’s alright, sorry guys, please disregard my last two posts, I’ll do some more research on it myself and come back and ask what I can’t find.

Thanks all for the help. 🙂

Josh

Sure, PM me. If you want I can either recommend where to order parts or buy parts.
But I have to tell you, it takes some practice to get the method of bending the eyepins correctly. Your first attempt may be a bit wonky. 😃

Hi There,
