Where to find Holy Water in LA

Greetings,

I’m new to the forum and can’t wait to explore it all. I have a quick question for the folks in LA. I’m looking for churches with Holy Water fountain dispensers. Does anyone know of parishes that do this? I don’t want to dip into the fonts in front of the church… thanks in advance for any help…
 
By LA do you mean Louisiana or Los Angeles?

Either way, you’re talking about large geographical areas. Or do you mean downtown Los Angeles? (I’ve heard rumors that there actually is a downtown Los Angeles.)
 
Sorry, should have been more specific… I mean Los Angeles… I know of one older church, St. Charles, who has a Holy Water fountain dispenser… looking to see if there are any other in the Los Angeles area… thanks…

621 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA

There is a holy water faucet at the back entrance of the church.
 
Of course not being in LA I don’t have any specifics, but I think that most Catholic churches, in addition to the holy water fonts that people use to bless themselves, also have larger containers with spigots that people can use to fill up bottles or other suitable containers with holy water.

Why not? That’s where the dispensers are filled from… 😉

I’ve never heard of it being called the “Church of the Holy Oil”. What’s the story behind that?

I do know it is the setting for End of Days and Constantine. 😃

That church was paid for by Edward L. Doheny. He made $$$$$ in oil and got caught-up in the Teapot Dome Scandal. If you look at the Mass intentions in the parish bulletin there is still a weekly Mass celebrated for him and his wife – and he reposed in 1935.

The adjacent Doheny Campus of Mt. St. Mary’s College is the old Doheny Family compound.

Oh, I thought there was some kind of holy oil there. Yes, the Doheny family paid for that church and San Felipe de Jesus in Capistrano Beach as well as one of the libraries at 'SC.

It’s good that he’s remembered in a weekly Mass. From what I heard about his life, he greatly needs prayers.
 
I keep waiting for some Joke about the archdiocese not allowing holy water fonts…
