Where to get Icons?

Hello all,

I have recently gotten some gift cards for Christmas that I want to spend on religious items. I thought one thing I would do would get some icons to help me in my more eastern half of my spiritual life. LOL.

Where online do you all purchase your icons from? I am looking for more low to mid-range priced icons like $15-25 max. I have one icon that is about 9 and a half inches by 7 inches in size and I like that.

Also, if you have any icons you don’t use any more, please let me know and I will gladly take them off your hands 😃 seriously. lol.

The Brothers in my town have access to icons made by Russians in France, and occasionally have some for purchase.

One good source is Saint Isaac of Syria Skete. If there are any Orthodox or Eastern Catholic Churches in your area, they usually have a bookstore attached to the parish and any Orthodox or ECC bookstore would have icons for sale. I would look there first, keep your dollars local, tho selling icons on line is an important source of income for monasteries as well, so money well spent with them, too.

I have purchased several icons from easterngiftshop.com/.

This is an Orthodox homeschooling family. Their prices are extremely reasonable, their selection is good and their service is fantastic. I just received a Good Shepherd icon in the mail from them today.

I’ve also purchased from edensings.com/Pages/IconGallery.aspx. They don’t have a large selection and are a bit more expensive (but still within your price range), but the quality of their prints is impressive.

I have purchased a number of other things from them. I use their “Windows Into Heaven For Young Eyes, Icon Flashcards” all the time, and haven’t yet used them with children, tho they are sold for use with children.

Our deacon gave me a very nice icon he bought from them.

They are actually Eastern Catholic. They were at West Coast Encounter earlier this year and it was great meeting them in person.

Are they? I had noticed that they recently added some Maronite saints, but I though they were just being ecumenical. 🙂
