Where to put your rosary?

Leaving a rosary in my bed led to some awkward accidents in the middle of the night. Wearing a rosary is something that just isn’t done in my culture. So I hang mine on the lightswitch knob on the lamp next to my bed. Plus my rosary glows in the dark. Win!

i cant im only 17 and my parents wont let me be Catholic 😦
You can still say a rosary. Keep twenty cents in your pocket, one dime and ten pennies. Let the dime be the Our Father bead and the pennies the Hail Mary beads for now.

thats a awsome idea but i got Rosary beads lol

I wear one to protect my soul and my wellbeing where i might be at. I also use this sometimes before or after mass (or on the way to mass).

At home i have some rosaries that i pray with (week to week cycle) and they are kept in pouches in plastic zipper bags and being stored in a plastic storage box.

I keep both of my sterling silver rosaries in anti-tarnish zipper pouches. One of the pouches is in my everyday purse, and one is at my bedside. Polishing those with silver polish is a nightmare, so I do my best to keep them looking nice. They are both readily available for use at a moment’s notice.

If you have an expensive rosary, or one that is particularly precious to you, I’d really suggest you get a pouch to keep it from tangling and breaking in your pocket. But whether in a pouch or not, I’d suggest you keep it where you will use it frequently!

I keep mine in either my backpack or pocket, during the day. At night, I have it in the area a votive candle would reside, in my Grotto (made around 1900).

Hi I was wondering where do you out your rosary on the day and the night ?
I hear some people keep it in there pocket or around there neck in the day ( I’m at skl do I dunno what to do ?) and at night i hear people put it under there pillow (why?) or somewhere in there bedroom ? What do you do ? I dunno what to do ? Can anyone help me out ? Thanks chuck
I wrap mine around my belt loop. Only do this with corded Rosaries, though. If you do this with a chain Rosary it will break quickly.

I carry my everyday one in my pocket or in a small pouch in my bag.

I also have many old rosaries that belong to deceased relatives and friends that I keep in a “treasure box” that my mother made for me out of plasic canvas needle-point for my 13th birthday.

I use those rosaries on on the anniversay of the birth or death of the people they used to belong to.

There are rosaries all over my house. I have one on my nightstand and one I keep in a little zipped bad in my purse. And one on almost every other flat surface.

If you don’t carry a purse ( I assume you don’t), in your coat pocket, backpack, briefcase, will work.

In Latino cultures, men and women often wear their rosary around their necks. Usually under clothing, but accessible. As we are discussing in another thread, that can be confused with a common gang symbol, so be careful if you do that since you are in school. Check your school dress codes.

There seems to be one in almost every room at my place. I usually have one under the pillow because I often wake during the night…one of the joys of advancing years. Usually praying a decade will send me back to sleep which is more productive than counting sheep or worrying about the next day:thumbsup:

[SIGN][/SIGN]I tend to keep mine in a small pouch I can slip into any pocket quite easily. Do I remember? hmmm… talk about advanced age! LOL

Whenever I am out and about I find I have to resort to my 10 fingers because I’ve forgotten my Rosary! ugghh

I don’t keep it under my pillow (which sounds like a great idea!) … I’m a ‘pillow flipper’… got to have the cool side 😃 So I fear the Rosary would be lauched into oblivion if I kept mine there. Again, I just use my fingers and drift back to sleep.

I have thought about getting one of those little Rosary rings, the ones with 10 little, raised bumps on them and a tiny raised cross. Of course I have to actually remember to get around to purchasing one, so for now, the ole fingers will have to do 🙂

Yes to protect my soul from temptation and great evil. I also pray with it quite often as well
when i don`t have my bag with me where one of my other rosaries are.

Remember what the cathecism says: for the right reasons, wearing a rosay is just fine.

I have several. One of them is in my pocket whenever I’m out, and they’re all throughout my house when I’m home.

I’ve been thinking of leaving one in the car, but can’t make up my mind which.

I have one next to my bed,
One next to my couch.
One that is in my backpack on my wheelchair.

I usually wear one around my neck because of Our Lady’s message of Fatima but lately I’ve been going to a lot of things with formal or business attire and wearing a tie makes it hard to get access to so I’ve been keeping it in my pocket in a little case. Plus I’m trying to get enrolled in the scapular soon and it might seem to be an inconvinirnce to wear both at the same time. The rosary is a powerful weapon.

Young person wanting to be active in holy mother church you are in my prayers as well. You seem to have quite the gift of discernment at a young age. It was not so easy for me. Remember The Lord knows your heart.
