👍 raidenwtf, if you would tell us a bit about your religious upbringing (Baptized? First Holy Communion? Confirmed?) we could better give you our advice. But for starters, daily prayer is a must if you want to know God and grow in your love and fidelity to Him; take time to speak with Him as a Friend - the BEST Friend - and take time just to listen. 🙂

Hello, raidenwtf. Welcome to CAF. http://bestsmileys.com/waving/5.gif

Am in the hope that other posters can give you specific thoughts
on where to start. I just wanted to say that religion is all about
a relationship with God. Reading scripture is a good way to go about
getting to know Him. There are prayers of petition, where we ask Him
for things, prayers of praise, prayers of thanksgiving, and prayers asking
Him to forgive us, when needed. The good thing is that He knows and loves us
long before we seek Him. Isn’t that lovely? 🙂

Again, welcome, and you are in my poor prayers.

P.S. Here are two websites that I found that provide prayers.

catholicdoors.com/prayers/

catholic.org/clife/prayers/

thats for the advice everyone. so i know what to start praying for.
and to answer your question fcegm.
i started praying about week and a half ago. just mostly talked to god about what was on my mind and what for guidance and to help other people with their problems. and i was not baptized as a infant. my mother was not married to the my father so the the priest would not baptize me. i have recently gone to church the past 2 weeks with my mother to see what it was like. was not raised any religion though.

Easy Does It. Don’t bite off more then even a hippopotomus could chew.:nope:

Talk to your Priest about slowly slowly improving your spiritual life, and find a spiritual director if you can.

Now is a good time to inquire about RCIA (the program you complete to join the Church; some parishes may call it OCIA). The parish office will have more information on its particular program.

The cool thing is that you’re not just thinking about it; God is calling you closer to Him.

As we say in AA, “Easy Does It…but do it”😉

Keep something in mind–it’s not just about “being religious”. It’s about knowing Jesus.
